No it’s not. When adrenaline is through the roof like that, people hardly even use sights/optics. Even if the guy had cover and 30 seconds to shoot, he wouldn’t have squeezed one between the plates. Sorry, but that’s not how it works
Much more likely that the gun was chambered in a standard hunting caliber and the plate was penetrated anyway

You are wasting your time arguing this. These guys watched Blackhawk Down last night and are Level 47 on Call of Duty. They know what they are talking about.

this is why you dont try shite like that down here in the South. You dont only have to be worried about the cops but you also have to be worried about every other resident in the area that owns guns.

Don't know what this means as I do not play video games.
but I DO know better than to post in 'absolutes'..."never", "always", "no way" Just not very reasonable. But maybe you and Carson were there and 'know' the truth.

Heroes!!
As for that POS murderer, he better hope there is no afterlife/judgement day. But regardless, his name will live on in infamy for his family/friends to have deal with for the rest of their lives.
Heart felt prayers out to the families and friends of the victims.

He certainly didn't plan on dying yesterday.

Also to note, it was opening weekend of deer season here in Texas. Ol' baw probably had his deer rifle handy, and that "body armor" probably isn't going to be much of armor for a close range shot from a deer rifle, even if he didn't hit the space between the armor.

Whatever man. Your point in absolutes is taken so let me rephrase for Carson if I may adding my own in as well.
Based on training and multiple experiences in actual shootings, I feel I can state that it is unlikely to the point of certainty that the civilian shooter engaging the killer had the presence of mind to aim at the gap in the body armor. This doesn’t even address the ability to make that shot during a live fire engagement which is another matter entirely. Given the fact that he likely didn’t think about it much less have the ability to do it, I feel confident stating that a round going through the gap in the body armor was likely a fortuitous coincidence rather than a deliberate act. However, there is the minuscule possibility that a random citizen without law enforcement or military experience with no known history of involvement in lethal force encounters purposefully decided to make a near impossible shot in the worst conditions possible while facing possible death.

And yet people with racing adrenaline are able to precisely shoot deer in just a few seconds everyday.

It’s when those deer start shooting back that it gets tricky.

Probably not. The coward chose a church, where concealed carry probably isn't allowed by the general public.
Totally unrelated, but the doctor that shot people on a military base in Texas also knew the part of the base he was on would be gun free.
Cowards aren't doing this kind of thing in places where gun owners are allowed to carry.

Some body armor is worthless against certain high powered ammo. Depending on what he was shooting, going between the plates wouldn't have mattered.

Wasn’t it the open of whitetail season in Texas this weekend? Maybe old boy just back from his morning hunt and popped this guy with a WSM.

I love how there is always jackwads on here that take it upon themselves to diminish the accomplishments of others. Always.
Doesn’t matter the nature of the accomplishment but the small minds always rise to the occasion to tear down what someone else accomplished.

quote:neither did the dozens of others. This narrative of ‘this is what happens if you do this in the South’ seems odd given the carnage
He certainly didn't plan on dying yesterday
If he had been stopped at onset I could see how it would be appropriate

Well-put. 100% correct on all of that. Sorry I couldn't elaborate more from the get-go, im on I10 posting on my phone lol. 0% chance the guy took aim and thought "im going to take down this guy via one of the gaps in his plate carrier"
