He did a radio interview the other day.
He was only 20 yards away, hiding behind the neighbor's Dodge Ram when he saw the shooter walk around the front of the SUV with a handgun.
He could see the body armor, and saw it was the Velcro type with only the front and back plates.
He was an NRA instructor, but he had only grabbed a handful of bullets and had to make them count.
Good people shoot guns too.

Yes, he specifically discussed seeing the armor and determining where to try to make a hit on the guy.
