This right here. The Fatman, like Armstrong, is New Orleans. I'm no fan of renaming/removing but it's done and Fats should be honored.

Taylor owns pretty much the whole circle now. Sad to see Circle Bar go.

This is just the recommendations by a subcommittee predominately made up of SJWs (with the exception of Sterbcow). It has to go before the City Council, and Council members from the affected districts will have a large say and will consult or have been consulting with their neighborhood associations. Much of this will change. Though I have to admit, Toussaint Blvd is not as bad as I was anticipating.

Changing Tulane Blvd is asinine.

So let me go out on a limb here and assume all the name changes were because they were named after white people?

This thread and New Orleans being the most African city in America need to be combined.

Most younger citizens of New Orleans (and Louisiana) have no idea who Toussaint is despite his incredible music.

Council members then may make their own adjustments before formally changing any names
And not one of them will consider how much money its going to cost already struggling businesses on those streets when they have to update all of their advertising, marketing materials, signage, websites, and whatever else they had their address on.

If they are going to rename anything, I can get behind the idea of naming streets after famous musicians from NOLA.

Doctor John Blvd. has a nice ring to it.

Lol that whitey will never get a nomination. We know why they’re doing this, it’s not to actually get rid of people with even a small tie to slavery. Revisionist history
