I guess it depends on where and with whom you work, but it's generally considered to be unprofessional to wear heavy cologne in my line of work.

I do keep one bottle of Chanel Platinum for fancy nights out.

My application method is to put a little spray spray in the air and walk into it as opposed to spray spraying it directly on my skin.

Cool story bro

the only contact I have is the hispanic plant workers that wear it by the gallon.

I do request a little aftershave post haircut (on back of neck and only if I'm not going to work afterwards)

I like and use Invicta, XXX, and tobacco vanilla. I enjoy the aromas as well as others I may hug. ??

Every day. I use unscented body wash, no woman wants to smell Irish Spring or Old Spice unless they are 50+. My 70 year old father still uses this exact combo.

Have I think 8 different bottles, YSL MYSLF EDP is the go to this year.

It's a still massive market and growing.

Market research indicates the global men's fragrance market grew from $12.8 billion in 2018 to about $17.3 billion in 2024

The market is 3-4x what it was in 2000.

In 2024, nearly half of U.S. adults (including men) apply fragrance daily.

I don't see the point in paying to mask one scent with another

That triggered a memory. Used to work with a 20-ish year old guy years ago who had some fricked up innards and had to wear an ostomy bag. He used pretty heavy amounts of cologne to try to cover up the smell, but what he ended up smelling like was ostomy bag + cologne

Irish Spring body wash, Dove shampoo/conditioner combo, old spice fresh scent deodorant.

Only things I ever use and I smell great.

Cologne is often obnoxious and a remnant from a time when bathing wasn't as frequent or thorough (or have the same soap options).

So you use scented products but think cologne isn’t needed because it’s scented. Weird.

I don't use cologne or after shave lotion. They both attract flies and mosquitoes.

They didn't shower/bathe as much, didn't have same deodorants we have, didn't have the same soaps we have, and didn't have the same laundry capabilites/frequency we have.

To each their own, but to say you use cologne to mask body odor is either disingenuous, you aren't a clean person, or you're Indian.

I just ask if you use it, please don't douse yourself. Sucks to be next to someone that smells like the inside of an Abercrombie and Fitch store.

Fine watches, spirits, etc.

Men in particular tend to enjoy things that once had more practical import/were created for different purpose and are now luxury/traditional items.
