Help me sebtle a fashion debate

Me and the buds got into an argument in the church parking lot this morning. I was wearing my favorite pear of overalls and they all thought it was inapropriate to wear inside a church. Jesus wore sandals to church so why the heck cant i wear my overalls? What say you?

Wear the overalls. They are roomy and you can stick a dictionary in them, which you obviously need very badly.

I wear bib overalls every single day from October to April, but it's too damn hot for overalls the other 6 months. Now when I'm on my land everyday, I wear a wife beater with Dickies coveralls every single day. When I'm taking a break, I unzip the coveralls and catch a nice cooling breeze.

I wear khakis and a collar shirt. I will say wearing overalls to church is better than not going to church. And you actually see a lot of that these days..jeans, shorts in church on Sunday morning. Not a lot wear church clothes or dress clothes anymore. And I could care less what someone else wears. Just an observation on society.

Stand up when a lady enters the room and, button your jacket.
Never button the bottom button on a vest.
Angle your straight pocket square slightly higher towards the lapel.
If your pocket square matches your tie exactly, we know your grandmother dressed you.
Don't wear a ivory or white dinner jacket to a wedding. (Rehearsal dinner ok)
Never serve a lady a drink without a cocktail napkin.
