Reading about the lack of gubment response to help those affected in Western NC is very troubling to say the least.

I'd rather my federal tax dollars go to Tennessee, Florida, NC, SC etc than Ukraine or the Middle East.

If it was full of Haitians or Mexicans or any other group besides Americans I'm sure they'd be throwing as much of our tax dollars at it as they could

Yes

They're applying the same principles they do to hiring, don't hire whites, to distributing aid, don't give them help.

100%. Not so much for the people that are living vicariously through a war that has wiped out generations of men, and will continue to do so as long as the money keeps flowing. It doesn’t matter if it’s victims of a natural disaster or some drug addicted person living on the streets. America first, and our tax money should go towards any and all
Americans before any of that money goes overseas.

Sure but does anyone have any evidence of a lack of funds going to NC?

AP Article On Floods and Response

quote:

He (Biden) said earlier that the federal government would be with affected residents in the nation’s southeast “as long as it takes.”

Government officials and aid groups worked to deliver supplies by air, truck and even mule to the hard-hit tourism hub of Asheville and its surrounding mountain towns. At least 40 people died in the county that includes Asheville.

quote:

Federal Emergency Management Agency officials said Monday that shelters were housing more than 1,000 people.

quote:

Ten federal search and rescue teams were on the ground and another nine were on their way, while trucks and cargo planes were arriving with food and water, FEMA said. FEMA Administrator Deanne Criswell surveyed damage with Cooper Monday.

Volunteers were showing up, too. Mike Toberer decided to bring a dozen of his mules to deliver food, water and diapers to hard-to-reach mountainous areas.

“We’ll take our chainsaws, and we’ll push those mules through,” he said, noting that each one can carry about 200 pounds (90 kilograms) of supplies.

Seems like we are spending money on the immediate response in NC, SC, GA.

Adele, GA

Probably means Adel, GA. What's incredible is Adel is really on the western edge where damage begins.

The width and intensity of the storm is staggering. There are so many stories about towns and farms in Georgia not getting reported simply because communication has been totally out for days. It's getting better today but slowly.

Georgia has never experienced anything like this. And some people are still isolated and not able to communicate.

I'm guessing it's a little easier to launder money sent to foreign entities, than it is to get kickbacks from a domestic source. There has to be a reason they are sending billions to Ukraine and not responding to this disaster, other than the government just plain hates us (which it does).

Was reading in this thread about y'all folks who are traveling there to help and organizing donations and support.

God bless y'all for doing the Lord's work. May your compassion and service to your fellow man be rewarded with many blessings.

The money spent on Ukraine etc could have been spent on emergency preparedness, moving to underground utilities, etc. Of course, the government would actually spend it on DEI.

I've been really busy with work since last Thursday, just now coming up to breathe and I had no idea it was this bad. What a calamity. I lost power for 15 days between two storms this year, everyone including myself has been bitching about it ever since. Those dont even hold a spec to the destruction Im seeing online and in the news from this storm.

God bless every one of you affected by this terrible storm. I did what I could to help, and we will be praying for you and your families.

It’s a lot bigger scope than people think too. Galax, VA got hit hard. Lots of damage in Western VA too.

Until Sunday I had plans to move from metro New Orleans to up your way maybe near Seneca/Clemson for retirement in 5-10 years, but now, I have to rethink.

I think you’re good unless you plan on living another 100 years.
