This is saying that dam failure is not imminent.

I believe they are referencing the first warning/discussion by NWS Morristown.

This one:

The warning of failure has come since then.

The whole damn government is broke and we will spiral into a debt issue that will make 2008 look like child's play.

Imminent Breach at [Insert Name Here] Dam

Lake Lure didn't, and it was warned. The Walter's dam was never, as far as I can tell, warned for imminent failure. It all stemmed from a TN state rep tweeting that it had failed. There were already Flash Flood Emergency warnings in place for it before that.

This has come directly from TVA and the dam operator.

That’s BS. Taxpayer money is going to be spent regardless, but American citizens and our country should always come first. Taxpayer money can’t stop Mother Nature, but that same money staying home VS sending millions to some 3rd World Country to study a couple monkeys frick could make a difference in the lives of many Americans. We can bitch and argue amongst ourselves about the way our taxpayer money is used, because it’s our money.

This is a nightmare. And it’s only going to get worse for those of us in E. Tn and Western, NC. Never in a million years thought it would be this bad here.

Which is good for those NC dams but there’s more on the way AND there’s the fact that TVA is going to have to empty the lakes very soon. We’re holding it for now but Douglas and others are at their limit. Those will go into the rivers that are already flooding us.

It really does suck for y'all and round 2 of misery looks to be coming in 7 days.

If you can still charge your phone and have service take advantage of that. Listen to some music and let your mind rest. Not to be a nut but the mind heals the body when you rest.

Hans Zimmer - Time

In this time of real time information there is no way this can be allowed to be a Katrina type of situation.

Hang in there

People need to wake up and vote like their life depends on it because it does. You can either vote for a moron that would rather feed illegals or you can vote for an arrogant a-hole that will feed Americans. Your choice.

They must have a different definition of "dam failure " than I would describe.
A dam failure to me would be super catastrophic, such as an entire lake full of water inundating towns below the dam.
Maybe a failure or breach is just water going over the top of the dam.

If it eases your nerves any, just know that it is really hard to get in touch with people during these situations. I know your kind probably goes to the worst possible scenario, but just have faith that they are okay.

I apologize that I can’t get the image posted on mobile but this is from North Carolina Weather Authority on Facebook.

quote:

I received this report from a follower working with recovery efforts in Asheville. Joe Fountain says “I'm here in the Canton/Asheville, NC area. All cell service is down, home phones, etc. Almost nowhere has power. We have been working our tails off trying to get mobile generators up to cell towers in hopes of restoring as much cell coverage as we can. After several were connected to the towers we found out the entire data system for this area has been knocked out and we're landlocked on all sides due to landslides, interstates and all roads inand out of the area are blocked or washed away. I'm sitting at a fire department in their parking lot to get service from their cell tower that has a satellite data backup system. We're doing our absolute best but everything we're doing is failing right now.”
