WELL frick.

Better news on the 12z GFS. Looks like a depression forms just off the central coast of Louisiana then quickly strengthens to a fairly strong tropical storm (bottoms out at 988 mb) right before it drifts inland from where Francine made landfall. Quickly weakens once inland but dumps a lot of rain across Baton Rouge and New Orleans as it slowly moves east/northeast across the area.

That’s a random Tuesday in New Orleans

Yeah, but it only takes 1.5" to do that, not almost a foot over two days.

Well, that'll take care of the highway sharks problem.

I hope the girl interviewed yesterday on The Weather Channel had her boat make it through okay. She had recently moved to Florida and lived on the boat.

The main entrance to the Biltmore estate in Asheville, NC. fricking yikes. Thankfully the house sits up higher but the gardens are probably going to have some wash out. And of course that whole area is underwater for anyone living around there.

It’s mind boggling that this hurricane was in the gulf just yesterday but now it’s wreaking havoc all the way up in North Carolina and Kentucky.
