The big change in winds must be just offshore of St. Pete since the surface winds there are 35 gusting to 55 with those strong hurricane force winds only ~25 miles offshore.

The eye is really starting to clear out now. Big band wrapping around the eye indicating further strengthening. I bet it gets to 140 mph before landfall.
