That outer band was wicked on the cam as it crossed I-275. Looks relatively calm there now. Gusting in the low 30s at TPA

Strange cause I'm just south of Sarasota and we've just had wind all day and no rain other than a small amount this morning.
I live in Punta Gorda. Just took a bike ride to a boat launch here. Streets w/in a few blocks of Charlotte Harbor are flooded, and I saw 3 houses that had flooding in them, older homes. The newer ones are built up and just fine.
I'll probably have some unknown disease in a few days, because the boat launch and construction of a house close to it, had the port-o-potties flooded out, and I was bicycling through that mess.

Yeah. It's just about cleared out at all levels.

Niiiice. I lived in North Port for like 20 years. Just moved here 3 months ago. Always fished charlotte harbor and just wanted to be closer to it. The boat launch I just went to was Darst.

Will need recon to confirm though but me thinks this is a Cat 4 now

agreed, or will be soon

I’d be surprised if it’s not a Cat 4 at landfall seeing how fast it’s strengthening currently. The eye is almost completely clear nw

I wish they were. I would be there right now.

How bad y’all think Panama City we’ll get from this?

They are estimating the French Broad River (Asheville area) to crest 10 ft above the record. The Western NC mountain areas are about to get crushed

Somewhere between “this ain’t so bad” and “ we should have left”

If you have local tv, turn it to NBC 2 (20.1 if you have Open Air antenna) they're actually saying where people are seeing stuff in Charlotte County.
