Moreno is a hardcore leftist. Right now we have an incompetent criminal. No good options.

I know it’s a sin to say something like this on an ultra conservative message board, but I don’t mind this. I get the “they’re spending your tax dollars!” argument, but I’m on the side of making healthcare as cheap as possible for everyone.

Mainly because these pharmaceutical companies have plenty of money and they just want more and more and profit immensely from most everyone over 40. It’s sickening to me. Why must someone have to pay $100,000 because they’ve worked all their lives at a backbreaking job and wants to live pain free? Why should someone have to pay hundreds of thousands of dollars for cancer treatment just to live? I’m not saying healthcare should be absolutely free for everyone, but it most definitely needs an absolute overhaul for what insurance and pharm. has done to it.

People think moreno will be an improvement are naive

She is a hell of a lot better looking but like a beautiful Mermaid, she’s calling you in to have you crash on the rocks

She never saw a program she didn’t like

But she is definitely better looking

Why help the bloated medical industry by paying the bills of their customers?

Medical expenses are too high because the largest customer of medical services-the government-pays way too much for those services AND made it law that providers that take government payments cannot charge others less than they charge the government thus establishing an ever rising floor in cost.

This is the right idea, but incorrect in a big way: hospital charges are so high because the government pays such a low percentage of the charge. The hospitals are forced to have higher charges in order to not lose money on every single procedure. It sucks for individuals who don’t have any or have awful insurance.

Wait. Instead of investing in the police force to curb some of the crime in America's most dangerous city they're goin to use tax payer money to pay medical bills?

In a city that has an expanded Medicaid and has a charity hospital system that provides free healthcare for the poor as well. I wonder how much Ochsner and Children's Hospital Group are donating to her campaign?

She’ll have support from them and others but I really don’t think that this idea is born out of that support.
She’s got enough deep pockets behind her to avoid obvious patronage.

I get it. It’s a loaded issue. Every question and every answer varies. But at some point, SOMETHING has to be done about it. People can’t afford hundreds of thousands of dollars of medical debt when they can barely pay rent. Everyone here knows that whole system is broken and the multi billion dollar corporations are the only ones that benefit from it.

If any debt that needs to be “erased” without paying anyone back, it’s to medical companies. They’re so stacked with cash, it’ll hurt for a minute. They’ll claim it’ll make prices go up even higher, but I would bet that excuse is a front so they don’t lose their cash cow in a broken insurance/medical system that they benefit from…..I have no answers on how to fix it. But it most definitely has to be fixed one way or another.
