It was moved to the east ramp a few months ago and they started disassembling it last week. Rumor control I heard is it was auctioned off and now it being scraped.

It was on govdeals in March. And again more recently.

Better stay off the Atlantic Southeast Airlines/Delta Connection regional jets. They are maintained at their maintenance center on the BTR airport property on the Plank road side of the airport, petty sure some BRCC grads work there.

So it seems like you're some what involved with operations at the airport...with what the other poster said about it being auctioned off in pieces, is it possible somebody bid on it with the intentions of turning the fuselage into an eatery of some sort?

Possible, but given the previous issues I have listed and the transport costs, it is unlikely the scrap company would be willing to part with 90% of their scrap value.
If the company is smart enough to read all of the service documents, that could change.
But it literally smells like a rotten shite factory and the floor is rotting out in places.

Negative. When the plane went up for auction I entertained the idea of doing a salvage op on it if the price was right.
200,000 lbs with a 60% scrapable rate is decent money. The problem was the big money items were all shite with the exception of the hush kits.
When we looked into buying and subcontracting the salvage out, the profit margin depended entirely on a buyer for the hush kits. Excellent money, but too much of a risk.
We passed.
Unless the plane was purchased directly by a salvage company who was willing to handle the hazmat issues for a prospective buyer of the cabin, and then the buy was willing to cover transport costs as well as the other issues with the plane, I don't see the money in it.

I've eaten in a converted airplane resturant in Colorado Springs. It was hot as hell in that thing. I left soaked in sweat and vowed never to eat in one again.

When I came in this morning I thought it was that space shuttle mockup that we bid on. Figured it wasn't being finished on schedule so they pulled that too. Thank god it wasn't.
