I don’t doubt that many Americans are overweight, but the definition of obese and overweight is skewed.
You have an observation bias.
You think what is healthy looks thin and malnourished because everyone you see is overweight or obese.
Your viewpoint is skewed.

It’s not rocket science to know what looks slim or fat. I’m just not of the mindset that a person has to look like a marathon runner to appear normal

How many “I’m healthy and lifted weights in high school” beer gut people are out there?

The concept is what is overweight and obese regarding health.
People reject these measurements because it challenges their current status and they can’t handle it emotionally.
I am technically just above what should be a good BMI and I recognize that fact and am working to lose about 7 lbs, even though I don’t look fat or obese.
The focus is health.
If you are statistically healthier at a lower weight, why challenge that? What is the issue here?

This right here should end all negative arguments about GLP1s. It's doing exactly what it needs to do. I don't care if people who don't need it want to pay full price for it while those who do get insurance help. The insurance coverage on a GLP1 is significantly less than the cost of obesity health care.

My bad: "a healthcare industry built largely around a subscription of fat people surgeries and a lifetime of drugs, other complications and follow up visits is DELIGHTED to hear those services will no longer be needed "
You think fat , poor, Medicaid diabetic patients are good for hospitals? They bleed them dry….
Overall hospitals will actually be delighted to be rid of fat people

I was told that big business keeping people sick was just a conspiracy theory.

Bro, a bank issued a factual report. That is far from "bitching".

That is fair. BMI works for 95% of the population. And I say that as someone who is overweight but not obese by BMI and trying to actively lose weight.
You gotta be super muscular to make BMI a bad tool. DK Metcalf has a BMI of 28.8 but he is clearly an exception.

Seriously. iIt’s standard industry report highlighting potential future impacts from current trends.
Somewhere some other analyst wrote a report on what procedures will be more common in the future due to vaping or some other thing that people are doing now more

Obesity is the cause of almost every single illness and death. High blood pressure, diabetes, heart disease, stroke, even cancer. Almost every disease is because you’re a fat frick. If you’re fat, you’re going to die soon. End of story.
Every fat frick in this country who gets on that shot, would live longer. But then again, do we want those people still hanging around? They’ll just eat an entire sheet cake and then take the shot for a week. They aren’t going to change their fat, disgusting habits.

Eh idk if I would go that far, but I bet 40% of the patients I deal with in hospitals are there due to being fat.
