Louisiana State Patrol (official Mafia of Louisiana) wants drivers to stop using hazard lights in bad weather. Having cars with hazard lights on probably makes it harder to identify cars going 5mph faster than the fake speed limits while running radar behind trees. Folks, Louisiana does not care about your safety but rather how much money they can make from you to fund their corrupt activities.

Louisiana:

Louisiana State Patrol says it’s illegal to use hazard lights during inclement weather.

quote:

Hazard lights should only be used if a vehicle is disabled in the roadway or on the shoulder. There is no need to use your flashers while driving in the rain. It is actually against #Louisiana law.

Louisiana

Texas:

Texas encourages use of Hazard lights.

quote:

Here in Texas, using them during inclement weather isn’t just allowed, DPS encourages it. “Bottom line: we want Texans to be safe, so we afford the driver every opportunity and every means on their vehicle as a safety precaution to make themselves feel safe,” said Woodard.

Texas

My take on this is when you can barely see 50 yards from your car, using hazard lights alerts drivers behind you of your presence.

Hazards prevent having on running taillights. Solid red is better than blinking yellow in low visibility situation.

It is also sometimes the same bulb as the brake light. You can't tell when someone is pressing the brake.

you are a fricking idiot. The only thing hazard lights does is put other cars in danger who may actually be stopped and using them correctly

People in Louisiana use hazard lights in the rain because people from Texas drive 40 to 50 MPH over the speed limit even in the rain.

My take is that if you can barely see 50 yards from your car, it’s best to pull over anyway rather than trying to go 30 mph on the interstate.

I always put my hazard lights on in the rain. Visibility gets low and everyone should slow down anyways. I’m not only cautioning myself, but the flashers alert everyone else on the road they should take caution and slow down.

If it’s raining so hard you need your hazards you need to get off of the damn road.

If I were a police officer I'd make it my goal to target morons like you and write more tickets for hazard lights than anyone in the country

Hazzard lights make it way too tough to tell if a car is putting on their brakes or its just hazard lights flashing. Hazard lights don't make the car any easier to see anyway. I wish cops wouls actually ticket drivers who have them on.

If you need hazard lights to drive, you should not be driving.

Hazard lights while driving is hazardous. I don’t see you any. better if your lights are flashing. than a steady running light. I also can’t tell when you stop or use your turn signal (pipe dream ). In the dark is it even worse. Hazard lights are for scared low IQ people. Each light on a vehicle or vessel has meaning you have to know how to interpret lights.

You obviously didn't know this is one of the OT's favorite topics.

Keep you're damn hazards off or pull over if you can't see.

Why are you trying to tell other drivers what to do?
