Sorry for your loss.

Lady is a beautiful dog and you can tell from the pictures, she's had a happy life with you. Really sorry for you. I know how it feels to say goodbye to pets. Heartbreaking and gut wrenching. Don't keep the tears in.
I hope when you're ready, you'll give a great home to another doggie who needs one. There are so many out there who would love to have a family.

Had to put my lab down at 7 years old due to cancer. I was worried I wouldn't time it right- wait too long or go it too early. When it was time I knew it. It's been almost a year and I have 4 other dogs. Will always miss her

So sorry for your loss. I have a 4 yo Boykin and don't even want to think about losing him.
Just remember the good times. She looks like she lived a long, loyal, happy life. And y'all be be reunited some day.
My damn office just got real dusty all of a sudden

quote:
ust this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.
All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.
You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.
Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

So very sorry for your loss but if she is suffering you are doing right by her. Hoping you find comfort in that.

I truly am sorry. I had to do the same with my first lab. at 14yrs. The pictures of your dog gave me chills as she looks just like mine who's laying next to me now.
If you haven't yet please get a copy of the poem RAINBOW BRIGE FOR DOGS. It will help heal the pain.

So sorry for you. I did it twice last year and I can tell you it is a pain like no other. Stay with her as she peacefully goes and try to remember the good times. I actually adopted a month after and it helped but I think of my loss nearly everyday. Prayers.

I'm about to have to put my 11 yr Golden down. She has attacked two of our dogs and one of our cats because she is blind, and has anxiety issues. Such a shame I don't want to do it but I can tell she is just miserable.
I did feed her half of my Whataburger patty melt today though. On the day I do take her in I will cook her a steak.

night before. I still have not been back to that Wendy's since and I hate even looking at it. Just brings back that sad night.
That burger patty helped me make the decision. She wolfed it down, but after looked at me like "oh shite. That's not staying down." It did but when I knew she couldn't fully enjoy a burger patty and it hurt her to pick her up, it was time to go.

Here is another one:
The Last Battle
If it should be that I grow frail and weak
And pain should keep me from my sleep,
Then will you do what must be done,
For this — the last battle — can't be won.
You will be sad I understand,
But don't let grief then stay your hand,
For on this day, more than the rest,
Your love and friendship must stand the test.
We have had so many happy years,
You wouldn't want me to suffer so.
When the time comes, please, let me go.
Take me to where to my needs they'll tend,
Only, stay with me till the end
And hold me firm and speak to me
Until my eyes no longer see.
I know in time you will agree
It is a kindness you do to me.
Although my tail its last has waved,
From pain and suffering I have been saved.
Don't grieve that it must be you
Who has to decide this thing to do;
We've been so close — we two — these years,
Don't let your heart hold any tears.

Sorry for your loss.
Hardest thing to do. I've had to put two down in the last 3 years
Probably getting a new lab here soon.

Yep. I did the same when my dog passed last year. Only mine loved him some Jersey Mikes chicken. He didn't eat for 9 or 10 days and after getting the chicken ,he gave us 2 days where he acted like a puppy again only to wake up the third day to him barely breathing. he was 13.
I'm sorry man. Terrible day for anyone that has to even consider the thought much less go through with doing this.
