The best is when you have 10 pictures of the item you're selling and they still ask for more pictures.

True, but he’s running off the people who absolutely won’t buy the truck and instead will waste his time.

Probabaly not the best post but if you ever sold anything on Facebook you’ll understand.

100% this. Replaced some wheels/tires on a vehicle and listed the old ones for sale on FB. Apparently did not ask enough as they sold in hours. I gave up trying to keep up with literally hundreds of inquiries and basically picked the first one that seemed to be a reasonable person. We met within an hour and sale was seamless.

However, some of the notable inquiries: (1) will you take $50? (2) can I install them on my truck and try them out? if they work for me I'll give you $100, (3) will you deliver them to Pensacola? (4) Is this still for sale (x100) after marking sold on FB.

Astonishing and not surprising at the same time.

All of these people deserve to get herpes.

Whoever wrote that Facebook Marketplace ad has A LOT of anger. Please don't reply to this post questioning my understanding of psychology. I WILL NOT reply. If this post is still up, then it is STILL MY OPINION. Do not waste time asking me if I changed my mind. If the post shows as edited you can rest assured that the edit was typographical in nature and DID NOT affect the fundamental point. DO NOT WASTE MY TIME asking for clarifications. My post is 100% CLEAR. I had to work 3,960 hours last year on a pogie boat to afford my truck and ABOVE GROUND POOL so my time is EXTREMELY VALUABLE to me. Thank you for taking the time to read my post.

The problem with selling shite is that you get fricking retards that come out of the woodwork.

It is like a bat-signal for them. I had a car for sale with a price that was fair for both the buyer and me. Second call was a nutjob that comes over and makes a ridiculous offer. I told him he was looking at the wrong car for the money he is offering.
He calls back that evening asking if it was still for sale and his offer is the same. Told him it was and the selling price had not changed.
Car is sold the next day for what I was asking and the nutjob calls again asking if I had changed my mind on the price. Told him car was sold and he gets pissed and asks for the new owners contact information. I told him that wasn't going to happen and hung up on him. Told the wife if he shows up at the house, don't wait, call the police.
Yes, they are out there and they seem to be multiplying.

The "how low will you go" question pisses me off, too. Bruh I ain't gonna tell you that. Make me an offer and I'll say yes or no. I'm not retarded enough to undersell myself

I always follow with "make offer". That usually shoos them away. I'm not telling you my low end.

Stop asking me fricking questions, it's free.

Them: "What's your lowest offer you'll take?"

You: "Um...it's free, man. Just come pick it up"

Them: "Come on guy...you gotta make it worth my drive out there"

Have you ever posted a vehicle on one of those websites?

I would get dozens of texts and emails all starting with “is the vehicle still for sale?”

So while I agree that you should be polite about it, informing people that if the ad is still up the vehicle is still for sale seems pretty reasonable to me.

anyone trying to sell has at least 30 messages a day asking for more pics, offering less than 10% of the asking price, and asking if its available, only to ghost you and never reply again.

they make it near impossible to get through the BS people and get to talk to a serious buyer.

This listing just oozes problematic transaction with the seller.

I read it as "I'm not here for bullshite," which is music to my ears if I'm trying to get something done without problems.

I don’t think asking if something is still available is wrong. I’ve asked about dirt bikes on Facebook and the first 3 I inquired about had already been sold.

I’ve sold many things on Facebook or Mercari, and people ask the dumbest questions.

But they are asking, which equals interest, therefore there aren't dumb questions.
