I dont remember ever crying.
I was waiting tables when Dale Earnhardt died, and several tables in the restaurant had families crying.
I remember friends crying after kurt cobain committed suicide.
I remember getting goosebumps when harry carey, larry munson, and don sutton died. Same for vin scully.
Memories run stronger for me when tied to sounds, smells, etc..
I remember getting pissed off when phil hartman was murdered.

Dimebag really screwed with my head. Knew him and his brother. He was just such a good guy that would do anything for anyone. He would literally give you the shirt off his back. I still get emotional thinking back to it.
Sorry for your loss. The whole murdered on stage thing had a lot to do with why it bothered me so much. I've been to so many shows over the years, the idea that they were no longer a sanctuary was disconcerting. (no pun intended) Took a bit of time for me to want to go see a show again. The Great White fire had a similar effect on me, as I knew some of the people who died that night from various music forums.

Davey Allison (not really a celebrity I guess)when I was a child. They were friends of our family and he was kind of my hero at the time.

Was going to post the same, but I couldn't compose myself to put the words together. Now I have to go lie down.

Quite a few people I know were acquaintances with Dimebag. They spent a lot of time in the square in Shreveport in the 80's.
EVH too, I met him a couple of times in the Square. He and Valerie hung out there quite a bit.

Cried? No but certain deaths have certainly upset me some for more than a day.
I think if a person makes a connection at a young age like with Robin Williams or Steve Irwin they can certainly be hurt by it.
Musicians are a big one for some people. Plenty of people I know that used music or a band to help them get through their struggles in life. That's why you often see copy cat suicides when people like Kurt and Chester die.

Yes. Chris Benoit
I wrote a poem in tribute to his memory:
I know that wresling is fake
but lets just give it a take,
this guy was really small
but he stood above most all
if anyone had any grit
you were the one who had it.
we only know you from TV
but you did as much as you could be
from a father, husband, or just a man
you did the all that you can
you had blue eyes, and this is true
but there is no man you would not go through
you were the best I have ever seen
BECAUSE YOU ARE THE RABID WOLVERINE!!!!!!!!
RIP, CHRIS!!!!!!!!!

Interesting... I just read the biography,'Janis'... And while I didn't cry, cuz after all I'm a man, it was very emotional. And that's odd because you know how it's going to turn out, like the Titanic the ending is there.
But to read about how much she wanted to please her parents, especially her father, and to prove herself and to see how she had to handle the pain was just sad.
Highly recommend...

Yea, it just caught everyone off guard. Another guy that no one here is probably gonna know was frank pucci. I had talked with him days before his death. Still keep in touch with one of his kids.

The day the music died. The day Elvis died.
I didn't cry but I felt profoundly saddened. Like something inside me died along with him. His recording of "I can't help falling in love with you" was our song. Coming up on 53 years together, it's still our favorite.

I almost did, but not until I started listening to some of his stuff that night. That one did get to me.

No, but Robin Williams and Chris Cornell’s suicide both disturbed me. Those 2 are the only ones that I can even say I was disturbed about.

No. I cry when family members and friends die.

I’ve been bummed by several celebrity deaths. Hendrix, Paul Newman, Reagan to name a few. But I’ve never cried about it. I don’t get that. People you don’t know personally and you’re crying about it?
I didn't cry about it, but the death of Doloris O'Riordan stayed with me for a few days. Cranberries were a huge part of my formative years.

Also should mention Stuart Scott.
Watching rich eisen talk about it on the nfl network was pretty gut wrenching.
Also, I was especially bummed when I heard of James gandolfini’s passing.
