Was on a state runner up team In football as a sophomore and again as a senior. Didn't get in the first game and played a good bit in the second. I have to say neither was a defining moment for me and I rarely think about it. I met a guy who played on one of the opposing teams years later and by his recollection they had lost, so apparently it wasn't a defining moment for him either.

I get not letting your life be defined by your high school athletic exploits...but the dude didn't even remember whether his team had won or lost the state championship game?

My son’s basketball team won the championship for their age group over the weekend. I was trying to explain to him how special it is to have that experience and to really cherish it

Starting center fielder on Little League city champs at 13. Player/Coach of city league basketball champs in High School.

Assistant coach on my son's 14-15 year old city league baseball championship team.

As one poster said, it was much more fun coaching and watching my son succeed. I really didn't appreciate the championships when I was a kid because there was no drama involved. Basketball team was undefeated and ran away with the title. Baseball team only lost a couple of games and it was clearly the best team at the end of the season.

Yea our peewee football team went undefeated

Also was on an undefeated city league baseball team.

Came up 1 game short in jr high football of winning the conference.

High school football made playoffs 2/3 seasons but never advanced past 2nd round.

2 seasons of college football I played we sucked. Won 2 games and 1 game.

A bunch - I'd have to pull out all the trophies to remember (my mother kept all of this shite). I've forgotten just about all of them - so I guess they weren't that big of deal anyway

Was LHSAA Div 3 High School state champion in 50 free & 100 fly in my junior and senior years. Held the Div 3 state records in the 100 fly for about 20 years. And held the 50 free record until 2 years ago (about 25 years).

US swimming LA state champion in 100 fly SCY & LCM at age 14. Held state records in both of those for a short time until a guy a year behind me broke them. State champ in 50 free at that age as well, but no record.

Had a dry spell of stupidity and won state again as a 17-18 yr old in several events after I got my shite back together. Held the LA open (senior) record in the 50 free for a couple short years before a friend broke that.

Should have been a lot faster then but several years of putting pussy on a pedestal really fricked up my desire to train and compete. Got my shite together for college swimming at LSU though.

My relay team was first team all league in the 4x400 my senior year. So that was kind of cool.

Then my dad and I won a small town podunk tennis tourney that had about 12 entries in it at a small local festival over a weekend one time.

Now i coach my sons in Rec league baseball. Coaching them is more fun than anything i even did as a player.
