Have you ever taken a fake "business trip"?

I have a co-worker who says he takes a couple of fake business trips each year to get away. He tells his wife and family he's going on a business trip for a few days but in reality he's taking a few days vacation on his own to wherever.

He claims he's not cheating - that he simply needs "me time" and this is the best opportunity to truly unwind. I think it's pretty shitty to not just talk about it and do a guys only trip once a year somewhere, but I guess he doesn't wear any pants in his house.

It might truly be a guys trip, and also he might be cheating. Which may explain why he keeps it a secret...

Key West has a fabulous nightlife. Lewis from Jeopardy! will likely be there.

Brother-in-law's dad takes at least three "check out a timeshare" trips a year. That old man is a pro at that game.

If he has to lie to his wife to get out of the house for a couple of days, he's got bigger problems than faking a business trip.

I try and avoid creating elaborate lies to tell my wife for no reason. This guy is definently banging someone or something and trying to hide it.

Sounds like a good idea to me. Think I'd just go somewhere to sleep & read.

He's either a cheater or a serial killer who just got sloppy with his MO.

Regardless, you are now personally involved. His wife has became suspicious and soon he will ask you to corroborate a "work trip" or your co-worker realizes that he now needs to tie up a loose end.

If I need that I'll just tell my wife, you run into problems when you're dishonest with your spouse.

I know folks who attend seemingly unnecessarily distant continuing education seminars. But as far as I know they're not all-out lies.

He's lying to his wife. That is cheating. Whether he's banging someone else isn't the issue.

Why lie? I take a couple weekend fishing trips with my buddies each year, those are my "me time" trips.

Nope, I just for some weird reason just tell my wife where I am actually going when I want to go somewhere like a fishing or motorcycle trip.

I used to do it with an ex girlfriend a few times a year just to get away without her hassling me about what all I'm doing. But I'd always meet up with friends in another city. Never cheated technically but things were done.

Yep, I have know someone who did this and sure enough he was cheating on his ol lady. The kicker was he didn't even leave the city he lived in.

How does he explain away his work not paying for travel expenses if it is a supposed business trip? Guess he keeps a separate bank account for this?

I just feel like most women would instantly assume you're cheating or want to cheat if you told them you want to have a personal weekend.
