a result, the insurance company didn’t want to pay her the max for injuries already being treated. Hence I get sued because the insurance company won’t pay.
Fairly certain you can sue your insurance then. They ha e an obligation to protect you. If they deny payment, you go to court and the judge makes them pay if legally required. If not legally required, then there's no way you could be at fault and the insurance not be liable for payment up to your policy limits.

I sued my neighbor for illegal trash dumping on his property, Actually, me and nine other residents in the neighborhood did. I just spearheaded the effort. We won, he lost and he cleaned up the place. However, about four months later he started back to his old way. I had my lawyer send him a nasty letter and the problem was solved. He moved about six months later.

Mine actually says I just can't discuss the particulars of the settlement, only allowed to state that the parties reached a mutually agreeable settlement. The lawsuit itself is typically public knowledge as it has to be filed with the court and the filing is subject to public disclosure laws.

Sued for stopping payment on a check for a fiberglass repair on my boat. Had to sit in small claims court literally all flipping day with no phone. Won. Story if interested:
In 2014 - had an old 2000ish Fiberglass center console 19ft boat. Lunched in Montegut. Was zipping up my jacket getting ready to head out when some dipshit comes flying down the bayou full speed in a 17 ft metal center console with a 60hp on it. It was opening day of duck season. 8 am. They were coming in from hunting. He had 2 pirogues stacked up on the front of his boat and couldn't see shite. One guy ended up in the water and another guy landed in my boat. Green Jeans came and gave him a ticket for failure to yield and not idling at a launch.
Brought boat to some dude down the bayou to fix the fiberglass. Said it would be ready in a month. After 3 months I called on a Monday and said I am getting it on Friday. Got there and the boat is parked up under a tree covered in pollen with the top on. Shithead says "your going to need to get your boat sprayed". Had no idea what he was talking about. I asked what he meant and he said "you have termites" . Pulled the cover back and there were termite tubes on the bottom of the boat. Gave him a check and took boat to camp. Started to clean the boat out and found termite mounds in every hole, corner, crevice that the boat had. Floor was flimsy as shite too. Boat was basically totaled. Stopped payment on the check. Sold Motor and trailer and donated the boat at $0 value.

My sister got a phone call from one of those Jim Adler types of attorneys 6 or 8 months after she hit someone. They were high pressure trying to get her to sign a personal accountability letter. She's pretty naive and almost signed it but talked to my parents before signing.
I had a low speed accident when I was 20. My insurance company told me 6 people were claiming bodily injury. Oddly enough, there were 5 people in the vehicle. One which was a newborn. I was able to lay out how they were seated in the vehicle and they were denied any payout. I believe that included the damage I did to their vehicle by tapping them.

Wife and I sued by family whose kid on his bike ran into the right rear corner panel of our car. They claimed my wife should have yielded to the kid. Parents/lawyer claimed he was traumatized by the accident, could not eat or sleep, could barely stand up and walk, affected his grades. Turned it over to our insurance company. Their investigators videoed him a couple days later running around, playing football in their front yard, riding his bike, etc.
Insurance reps showed the video to their lawyer and case was dropped.
Parents & lawyer just looking for a payday.

They covered my representation and eventually settled the case but I got served and deposed before it was dealt with.
Annoying as hell because I had nothing to do with the post-accident negotiations.
I was the one whose car got totaled because I was in a sedan and she was in an SUV, yet she claimed injuries while still recovering from injuries suffered in a previous accident.

I wish there were a database of who has sued.
There is. It's called an ISO Claims Search. Any insurance industry employee or law firm can run it for you.

If you have to pay anything and your limits were not reached, your insurance is liable, not you personally. No matter what they settled before. If they settled, and left some loophole where you are still liable, then sue them. They should have some agreement where the case is closed once they sign off and settle everything. At that point, the other person cannot come for any more damages. If they didn't include that, they didn't represent you appropriately.
Now that doesn't mean she can't sue past the limits of your policy and then you'd be on the hook for anything above that.

rear ended a baw and his fat gf on the 210 loop bridge one night. He had run out of gas and didn't turn his emergency flashers on. my ticket for careless operation was thrown out in court but the fat bitch tried to sue me and him. he had to pay up because my insurance companies lawyer showed that he had run out of gas in an emergency stopping only area after passing a few exits with gas stations.

So you fought the divorce and we still married?
No, I just won child custody and kept all assets. The only thing I lost was the wife and that was addition by subtraction.
