I haven't really done much drinking since October 2019; which was socially on weekends. I've maybe had a dozen or so beers and a couple cocktails since then.
Initially, the decision to stop wasn't completely random, but can't say I miss it all that much.

I limit myself to two portions in a day.
Most days are at zero.
Long social events get fake g&ts so I don’t have to answer interrogations, and talking to casual acquaintances who are currently drinking #6 or so about my limiting my own consumption can be Debbie Downer-y.
I still really like good wine, spirits, & beer but now in moderation.

Same. Kinda sad that I have to cover up not drinking so I don't get shite for it, but I usually just carry a yeti of water and nobody knows. Like I said, I do still enjoy craft beer and bourbon, but I enjoy it for the taste and I enjoy a couple from time to time and thats pretty much it. Kinda wild that the desire just went away.

Same thing with smoking cigs. I got sick and had fever for a few days and I had a sudden feeling to not smoke anymore and I haven't. Its been over a year now....sleep wayyy better..

Do people really do this past the age of 23? I don't know if I've ever seen someone asked about not drinking as a grown up. Maybe my social circle has more tact than that.
"Hey, you want something to drink?"
"Yeah, grab me a coke."
"Cool. Here you go."
"Thanks."

That's how it was for me as well. For the first couple of nights the change happened I'd poor a drink out of habit and feel disgusted with it.

Yes. My health has improved significantly.

yeah but actually following through with it without effort (so far) is pretty damn weird for me.
It's a risk vs reward thing. I started drinking late, right before my 22nd birthday. I liked getting drunk, so I'd have usually a drink every night and on most nights 2-4 with a binge on the weekend. Not all the time, there were definitely days I didn't drink, but I didn't go more than 2 to 3 days without a drink for a few years. Sometime around last year it just stopped being worth it. I woke up and felt awful and all of a sudden the night before didn't seem as fun. It just kept getting worse from there.
I don't abstain, and I'll have a pour or two once or twice a week, every now and then a glass of wine, but I rarely get tore up because I know how it's gonna feel the next day.
The thing I really don't get is my parents and their friends, being sloshed well into their late 50s, early 60s. I feel like shite a night after heavy drinking and I'm in my late 20s. I just can't see it being worth it when I'm twice my age right now.
EDIT - I wanted to see if I had a "problem" at one point, so I went to the liquor store and bought 2 fifths of whiskey, A cask strength Makers and WR Rye and see how long I could make it before they were empty. They lasted a little over 2 months. Not sure what that says, but my conclusion was that if I was so worried about having a "problem" that I probably did, regardless of my consumption habits.

Last night was my final outing before a sober remainder of january and february push

I don't drink much, maybe 2 or 3 beers on the weekend, 5 or 6 if we are doing something social. Sometimes I will go 3 or 4 months at a time without a drink, no conscious effort, just no craving or care to have a drink.

I think this all the time. My parents don't drink, but I know so many in their 50's and 60's that party their asses off. I can't imagine still wanting to do that at that point in my life. Not judging, I just know how I feel about it at 33 and I'm like how is that still a priority or a hobby at that age.

Last night was the first time in a long time where I didn't drink. It was the single worst night of sleep I have had that I can remember. Hoping tonight will be better.

Start smoking cigarettes and you’ll get it back

I'm mid 50s, the older i get the less i want to drink. As ole Hank Jr. said, "cornbread and iced tea have taken the place of pills and 90 proof."

It will. The only times I actually take a break from drinking on the nightly is when:
A) My sleep patterns start getting messed up due to lack of REM sleep.
B) My anxiety starts being terrible the next day.
Then I know it's time to take a few days off.

Multiple times in my life.
This last time has lasted about 5 years or more (and will likely last forever at this point).
