My best friend growing up. He and I were born on the same day, at the same hospital and delivered by the same doctor 10 minutes apart. Our parents met at those breathing classes. Turned out they only lived a few blocks away from us. So growing up, we were inseparable.

In high school he started dabbling in drugs and I distanced myself. On April 14,1999 he drove into the 9th ward late one night to buy some drugs. He was shot point blank in the head through his rolled down truck window. Nothing stolen and the cash he was going to use was found still sitting on his lap.

Apparently the night before a couple of Chalmette boys went into the 9th ward and held up a couple of dealers and Danny was used to make an example of. Took police several years to find his killer, who was 16 or 17 at the time of Danny's killing. His father would walk the streets, door to door with local pastors begging and pleading for anyone to give him information to help lead to the apprehension of the killer.

If you consider 9 11 murder (which I do), then yes. He was on the plane that Was flown into the north tower. Not a close friend but someone I went to high school with.

I had a friend in first grade who was stabbed to death by his mother in the summer of '96.

A guy I served with could not stay away from the ladies of the night. While in South America he ventured way off post chasing cheap poon. He was found with a bullet in his head in a back alley. He was married with kids, that's what was most difficult.

A guy I graduated with was killed over his income tax return. Caught the guy burning his clothes the next day.

Two brothers I went to school with were shot in a club in Dallas, one died.

Worked with a couple. One was found in the trunk of his car after it was set on fire. One had his throat cut by his wife in his sleep.

A girl killed by her boyfriend and body thrown in a creek.

Childhood friend was "ran" over by a sheriff's deputy in the middle of no where. His brother swears he was killed.

Good friend was shot and killed at a wedding reception in a church parking lot by a coward that couldn't defend himself without a gun.

Is it a lot more common for men to kill their whole families in a murder/suicide than for women?

My mom is a teacher and this past November, one of her high school students was killed by her father. He killed the little girl, shot the mom, and killed himself.

I've seen several other people in the thread mention a man killing his family and himself.
