My closest Walmart has been out of ground beef for about 6 weeks. I just found out Sam's had a bunch of it. My freezer now has that, Boneless skinless, and pork loins weighing it down.

Uh, yes. We keep basmati on hand but had a recipe that called for it, so I put it on my list. Just subbed the basmati when they were out.

What else would you use in Jambalaya?

Don’t tell us you’re one of those heathens who uses parboiled in your Jam?

The only things I've seen shortages on in the last few weeks are flour, wipes, hand sanitizer (or the stuff to make it) and some cleaning products. Selection may be lower though (like I may not be able to find chuck roast, but other types of roast are available). Toilet paper/paper towels seem to be coming back but with fewer choices available.

I've started making my own hand sanitizer.

All you need is some rubbing alcohol, aloe vera or other gel substance and hydrogen peroxide.

I haven't seen rubbing alcohol anywhere in the last 6 weeks.

I already had a quart of rubbing alcohol that I use to start my charcoal Big Green Egg.

Meat section has been plentiful.

However, pasta seems near impossible near me and basic baking supplies like flour etc are scarce.

Alcohol = don't even think about it.

Rouses did not have El Tesoro Reposado Tequila this week. Quite vexing.

If you would just read the rest of the thread rather than thinking you have a clever gotcha' question I explained where I get the alcohol.

If you don't have alcohol on hand, I've seen it in stock at Winn Dixie the last 2 or 3 times I've been there. I bought one additional bottle just in case I need it, which I haven't yet.

other than still no goddamn TP and paper towels, no, all food items are back to normal

Our local Walgreens usually has paper towels in stock. We haven't run out of tp yet but I'm probably down to a two week supply at this point.

So YOU'RE the one hoarding all the rubbing alcohol!

I have a gallon of 91% alcohol that I use for hobbies and such, so I'm good. Mom can't find a bottle anywhere. I'd give her some of mine, but she's 200 miles away.

I also have a gallon of hand sanitizer, but that's because I like to buy shite in bulk because it's cheaper. I hope to be able to do that again some day.

We filled our freezer with a cow just as this ish was starting so we're good. Down to our last pack of TP though.

The mangoes at my grocery store suck. But then again, the mangoes in American grocery stores almost always suck.

OK, serious now: I was at the Uptown Breaux Mart this morning and it was pretty normal. Bread looked a little depleted, but they still had a wide variety of brands, and their hot food buffet has been shut down for weeks. Nothing else stood out as different from normal.

Did the cow resist being put in the freezer very much?
