Maybe not accepted it, but I damn sure know I'm not gonna die in a nursing home. Went to one yesterday helping out a friend of mine deliver 5-gal water bottles just in case their water froze. Depressing as shite.

When I was a child, I was terrified of dying in my sleep. So, my child brain came up with a plan. If I ever finished a book before bed, I would immediately start another one because I couldn't die with an incomplete book to be read.

I hate to get dark on this Sunday morning. But are you comfortable knowing you will die and it may be awful?

I’ve tried it once and it was indeed awful. My advice is avoid it if at all possible for as long as possible.

Lost a good friend and a close family member recently. Makes you realize that your time here is short.
I am a Christian. I believe that Jesus died on the cross for my sins. I rely on him as Lord and Savior. I am as prepared for physical death as I can possibly be. The second death is an eternity away from the presence of God and will be an awful place to spend eternity. I plan on spending eternity with the Creator in his presence.

Yes.

Death is just a part of life, something we are all destined to do.

I lost my husband, then Covid happened, and life was pretty much suspended for a few years. Last summer I had a health scare. It was a false alarm , but it made me resolve to not die with money in the bank. Ive booked a 3 + week trip to Africa for later this year, bought several new cameras and lenses, gone to Yellowstone and the Tetons, then the Everglades , and home to Louisiana for Christmas, all since August. (That doesn’t count new tires, work on the car, new flooring, etc)

My plan is coming along nicely. In fact, I may run out of $$$ sooner rather than later….hahahaha…..

Yep….The older one gets, the shorter the window is for active travel. Besides safari vehicles, I am doing bushwalks (with a guide). And staying in tents. One of these days I will need the"luxury safari" or a cruise somewhere (never done a cruise)..Then, maybe rocking chair on the porch and reliving my memories! I totally lost a couple of years between crippling grief and Covid quarantine, so i am revving up the bucket list checkoffs.

It does not matter. It will happen to us all, accepted or not.

I wish you the best outcome, maybe a miracle will happen.

We all know we are going to die, but a diagnosis such as yours has to pull one up short.

I don't know how one's version of accepting death is:

Breathing in, smelling like, tasting, and appearing as-

trash

Death doesn’t scare me as much as what I would miss if it came too soon.
This is my view on it. It crushes me to even think about my wife and kids being sad and having to go through me no longer being here. And not being able to go through life with them.

You know since the stroke I realized that I'm dying.
I mean not tonight,, probably.
I aged so much in the past three and a half years and I'm still not receiving the medical help that I need to get better, and I'm fighting

but also know that the end is going to come before I get to a point that I'm satisfied with my progress.

I guess that's kind of ultimately for all of us facing death when you realize you're not quite to being the man you hoped you would be And death is fast approaching
