high rise because the former is antiquated and regressive is going to be a genuinely sad saga of my generation.
That's not the worst part.
The worst part is that young men, observing the way marriage and the family have gone, doesn't even try.
You think we have problems now, just wait until we have as high of a percentage of single men as China does.

My wife has a friend who is a fat slob single mother. She gets plenty of guys to hook up with from dating apps. None of them will date or marry her, but she feels like she doesn't need to improve herself because she can get that hookup when she wants.

I'm married with two kids. We did it right waiting until our 30s and established. No way I would do this in my 20s.
How is that right? We had our kids early and now they are all grown and gone. We can still travel, enjoy life (while we are still healthy) and enjoying watching our grandkids grow up!

Facts.
I know your stance, and I disagree with most everything you say, but I do agree with this.
I think that's a big issue with women more so than men (although I don't think it's exclusive to women). If the marriage is the best day, that's bad news.

I don't really see the issue? People complain about over crowding and too many humans, then we complain that young people aren't having enough kids. Seems like the general yin and yang of life tend to work some things out.
The other way to look at all this is that a certain portion of society really is not fit to be in a traditional family household. At some point instead of forcing it, we need to just admit it and move on. Why push people that would be shitty parents and spouses into being just that instead of just allowing them to be single and move on?

Yes. All designed to destroy family in the west and, thus, the west.

The women wanting a wedding more than a marriage is a phenomenon which I experienced personally at great physical, emotional, and financial cost. I spent almost my entire 20’s with a woman who basically gave up on me almost as soon as the wedding reception was over.

These threads always bring to the surface that there is an equal number of shitty men as there is shitty women.
A post on page 1 nails it.
Typically in successful relationships, the good men and the good women find each other early and get married. Not after two divorces and 3 kids. Not after establishing their careers until they're 38. Not after fricking their way through dating apps until they're 30. The good ones are gone early. All the rest of the shitty ones are posting about how shitty the other side is ITT.

People need to have a respectful, healthy sex life. No sex makes people angry.

Just be a person. Dress well enough, keep you house clean, take a shower, pick up a social hobby, control your alcohol intake, get in shape. Not because you're pursuing women, but because that's what people do.
This is delusional
You are saying 70% of men are slobs and straight up undesirable
Imagine the world if men were that picky about who they screwed.

I think current society is hurting men and women. We weren’t designed to live without each other. A happy marriage is one of the hardest and most rewarding experiences found in life. But current society encourages “me first” and reduces a lot of folks into chubby, selfish twats. The concept of sacrifice that nurtures a healthy marriage is so foreign to this Gen pop and is what make this society so detestable.

Casual sex culture has ruined it for men and women. If you are sowing your wild oats into your late 20’s and 30’s you are severely restricting the viable pool of long-term partners your age. Then, once the realization that you are getting too old to be single hits, men and women both suck at either relaxing their standards or undertaking the self-improvement necessary to get what they think they “deserve.”
On the other hand, there are too many women in LTR’s allowing themselves to be strung along by dudes who won’t marry them. The old saying “Why buy the cow when you can get the milk for free” still rings true. When it finally crashes and burns you’re in your mid to late 30’s and staring time full in the face while he has the option to find someone younger and reset the clock. I definitely sympathize with those women, not so much the ones who are IRL 6 at best holding out for some high earning Eric Decker lookalike or the ones who are giving it all away on first dates with dudes they met on Tinder.

It's not just my wife. Pretty much every woman I've ever known does this. One of my closest friends had literally 3-4 inches of shite on her passenger seat floor area one time.
My wife's not nearly that bad, she just has a hard time removing the stuff that she's placed in her car.
We cleaned it out last week and found the slow cooker that had been missing since last Christmas. It was washed, thankfully.

I mean, the people who are choosing not to have kids are statistically the most likely to be good parents/spouses and raise productive, educated children. Think about the larger implications of your post over the long term.

That is a bummer.
My wife and I got married in a T-Shirt consignment shop by the Justice of the Peace. We had three people in attendance (my mom, her mom, her dad). I wore a shirt with a tie and she wore a second hand white dress. Our honeymoon was a dinner at the Landing in Natchitoches and a stay in a hotel by the river. The whole thing, rings included, cost us about $700. We both agree it was fantastic, because we were with each other and celebrating the rest of our lives. We have not remembered our anniversary date in a few years, usually both surprised by a text from my mom or sister. I got extremely lucky that I fell in love with who I fell in love with.
I think a lot of our perspectives on this issue stems from our experiences.

Understand that if you went until 35 single, you f’ed yourself in terms of the dating pool. It's not women's fault.
If you believe a 35 year old bachelor, especially one that has a career, is screwed, you are in for a world of hurt. That’s a man in his “dating prime”. 20-27 year olds throw themselves at these guys for money and stability
That’s what women don’t understand - men get, overall more attractive as they age, so they aren’t going to want a women their age at 35 when they can easily find a more suitable 27 year old…leaving the 35 year old former tattooed up whores drinking wine wondering where all the “good men” are.
News flash…they were in front of them ALL along, they were “just friends” or “not good enough”

But it still sad to me that our government and court systems seem to almost be encouraging young people from having families. And scaring men away from marriage due to the "rigged" nature of how divorce turns out.
This is an enormous factor. Men get absolutely railroaded in the court system. Women know this, so they use it as a weapon.

Its a natural transition though. In the past a man and a woman literally needed each other to survive and have a better life. The man left the house every day to hunt, gather, or work. The woman stayed home and kept the house and children, cooked, etc. Without the two working together, life was very difficult. Women needed men to protect them from other more savage men. Men needed women to make their lives more comfortable.
Now, men don't need women and vice versa to survive or exist happily.
Evolution is a son of a bitch sometimes.
