What skill necessary for journalism is difficult to master? It's not like HuffPo contributors are quality writers.

Grammar and structure. Are you intimidated yet?

Editors can clean up, so you don't even need that.

That’s true. With a decent editor even Oweo could write for HuffPo.

I mean, no he couldn’t, no editor is that good at his job. But you get the point I’m trying to make.

Twitter is now banning people who tweet learn code. I’ve never seen a more thin skinned bunch than liberals

Thin skinned and hypocrites. It's also some sound advice.

Oweo actually has a friend who got fired from buzzfeed. They used to ride the bus to school together and marvel at how tall the sugar cane was, but that was 20+ years ago. And it wasn’t really his friend. Also the guy didn’t get fired. He just wanted to write an article about baw culture but they told him no one cared about that so he quit and went to be a project estimator at Dow. Has anyone tried those new spicy skittles??

Well this Vanity Fair article sure is awkward.

News is dying but not journalism

I didn’t find it too awkward. It seems like a fairly honest assessment of the current state of journalism.

A quote from that article:
quote:

“The truth is that the news is dying, but journalism will not—and should not,” Derakhshan wrote last year. “The challenge for journalism in the years to come is to re-invent itself around something other than news, whilst resisting the seduction of propaganda and entertainment.”

Good luck with that. The oldest generation is completely susceptible to propaganda and the youngest generation demands entertainment in all aspects of information sharing. Not great bookends for a new, more thorough, less corrupted and less corporate journalism.

This has been my favorite TD thread in a long time. I didn’t even realize that was going on Twitter.

Can we just get the Boomers and the mellinnials to fight a battle to the death, mutually assured destruction?

Right? This wasn’t the heydays of journalism when you’d get undercover and reveal some dark secret being kept From the people in an evocative way that MADE them stand up and take notice and correct some great wrong. No call to duty that when men read it caused a stirring in the loins to take action against looming evil.

These morons were making daily lists on the 17 worst stories of misgendering (you won’t believe number 12!)

This is a close second to the “roast me” movement on Reddit last year.

I can simplify the doctor thing.

If you can legally write a prescription for a controlled substance, you are a real doctor.

Wrong. PAs and NPs can write for controlled substances in most states and are certainly not doctors(in most cases).
