It has whatever Ward they are in WBR written on the side. But it definitely wasn't bright and easily identifiable to the public type of police car. The best way I can describe it is like those BREC park ranger cars with a small light bar. IYKYK.

The only thing the road pirate is missing is a forest of trees to be hiding in

No. Law enforcement is still just a tyrannical wing of the tax man. Here to take from the rich, poor and otherwise and give to the richest.

You get what you pay for. These places with no tax base or an unwillingness to pay a substantial salary end up having to settle for bottom-of-the-barrel applicants which gives you shitty cops, many of them being what are known as Gypsy Cops. Sure, there can be assholes everywhere, but generally you'll find that the quality of officers in any department tracks very closely with the pay.

Police have never - NEVER - held the role of intervener or immediate handler of dire situations. Even now in the world of active shooters they are still late, untrained, and cowardly. That responsibility falls squarely on you and your choice to use 2A or not.
Police are here to follow up.

But since they are a communist terrorist organization, they are more interested in destabilizing the country.

I definitely hate CERTAIN departments, especially those podunk louisiana departments that would rather hand out tickers than decrease crime in their communities.
Well the Louisiana state police is the most corrupt organization in the state.

How would I want my mother to be treated even in terrible situations that we are placed in?
Times have changed and we live a militarized police state. Its a sad time in our country from top to bottom.
To many people wanna be, and do become officers, that shouldnt even be cleaning bathrooms at the local Wendys.
I pray everyday but I just dont see things changing.

There are no good cops & that's the problem. If there were, they'd weed out the bad ones, but they are complicit. Last I checked being complicit in a crime is a crime.
There may be good people and bad people in LE, but until they take a stand to get rid of the oath breakers, all cops are bad.

This is NOT true.
Stop.
Stop.

You’ve always had bad cops, but I think it’s worse today because of so many people trashing them. This makes recruiting decent guys harder and harder meaning they are lowering standards. Not a good place for the underqualified.

s like the FOP who refuse to agree to accountability for bad policing and bail out those bad apples, there’s no incentive to be a decent officer unless you have that internal drive.
No. I think your hubby was Army (for some reason), and there is a consistent concept of "don't cheat your buddy." Don't do two fewer evolutions than he does. You can, but share in the suck.
There are far, far, fewer bad apples than there used to be in the 70s and 80s. Have I dealt with a few in 30 years that have gotten all "I'm the senior enlisted guy here," yes. I mostly get the "please take your hands off the roof/wheel, it's making me nervous."
Poor pay is irrelevant, not that I'm acknowledging pay is an issue in Texas. You have kids and those expenses, you get to work in Harris or Houston. You don't, you get to work in Bugscuffle and not care. Do you want to be a nurse in Sealy, Waco, Houston, or Dallas? Same thing.

They have good cops, and shite cops. Like every profession. I don’t know a single profession that hasn’t had people abuse their position or have people frick up.
The problem is the bartender at chilis or Uber driver can only screw the entirety of my life so badly. The indifferent front desk agent at the hotel doesn’t causes me only so much headache.
The “just like any other profession, some of them suck” line isn’t great amongst some of those jobs we trust with life or death decisions… or still very serious arresting decisions.

You can not like it all you want, doesn’t mean it isn’t true. There are judges that suck, prosecutors, and defense attorneys as well. Just the way it is. Only thing you can do is hope you have a competent one when you’re involved with one.

Framed a different way-
Expectations continue to go up incredibly fast
Accountability goes up with things like body cams, cell phones etc…
Honestly, I suspect quality of policing Has largely gone up but not near as fast as the light being shined on the industry is revealing issues.
Even todays mediocre cops probably are relatively well educated compared to good cops 50 years ago, and not getting away with near the nonsense- but that doesn’t mean they’ve improved near as much as needed and there’s likely some stall out in progress with us losing our reverence for the police

I support all police except for Vidalia, Tallulah, and Golden Meadow departments. Those can go frick themselves for setting up speed traps

I didn’t say it’s untrue, I just meant we should be far less understanding of it in some professions.
