What’s the story?
Went in for vasectomy consult. Urologist felt something he didn't like, and did an ultrasound. Said one of the boys has to come out. Pathology came back that is was embryonal carcinoma. Thankfully, CT didn't show that it spread, so I'll be getting a cycle of chemo soon as a proactive approach to hopefully prevent recurrence. I'm sitting in the oncology waiting room now waiting to see him and get a game plan.

People trying to make the NBA retire Kobe's number league wide is a bit much..Also changing the NBA logo to a silhouette of Kobe..Just grieve and move on...

He bought that gigantic diamond and you never heard another peep about it.

I guess I'm a heartless prick but it doesn't faze me any more than any of the other untimely deaths over my life. If it does anything it is yet another reminder that I spend too much time working and less time enjoying life.

Kobe finally learned how to pass.

Both galactic-ally stupid overreactions.

Man, you must lead a charmed /blessed life if the death of people you admire in the culture is your biggest problem. Are you a teen or something?

Probably not going to cheer the OP up by reminding him that this is an easy one and he's got a whole river of shite to look forward to, assuming he doesn't suddenly die first.

This mindset always fascinates me. I will get upset when LSU loses and someone will tell me exactly what you just said. Then a week later I hear him bitching and moaning because he has been tracking a specific deer all hunting season and someone else killed him. Oh the irony.

Kobe was a person on TV. His death hit me almost as hard as Rob Stark.

Same. I was shocked like everyone else about the news yesterday but I am not dwelling on it or letting it affect me today.
Just a solemn reminder that life is short and to take more time to enjoy life and family and friends while you can. Work will go on even after I am gone.

It’s it a tragedy, sure, but putting a ball in a hoop for millions doesn’t make your life more important than anyone else.

Prayers to you man. Hang in there. Come back and update if you get a chance.

As far as I'm concerned, the death of celebrity to whom I have no personal connection, while sad, is the very definition of "small crap."

It's a very sad situation but I didn't know Kobe personally, it won't affect my personal life. This goes for most tragedies for me.
