It's a very sad situation but I didn't know Kobe personally, it won't affect my personal life. This goes for most tragedies for me.

We need to stop the false idol worship. If you never knew them personally it shouldn't affect you very much or at all really.

I get that way of thinking, but Kobe inspired millions, I think it's ok if his fans might get torn up about what happened.

No.

Not to sound cold but I had no emotional connection to the man. No doubt he's s one of the best to play his sport, but I'd never met him or followed any of his teams or etc.

You probably need to re-think your priorities if sports affects you this much

Trying to say it's just about sports is missing the point. For a lot of us he's a guy our age, the first "all-time great" we watched and remember from the very beginning. One of the very last of a dying breed of uber competitors, a guy who had so much more to give after the game that he was just tapping into. Then you factor in the human side of 3 daughters losing their father right when he was finally settling into that role of being a full time father and content after life in the arena, another daughter's life cut short at 13, a mother and wife grieving her child and husband and it puts our mortality in perspective.

I'm not going as far as the OP to say I can't enjoy anything or think about anything else but it has definitely affected me more than any other celeb death.

Please, please sir, continue to let me know how I should feel about things in my life. You seem to be the man who controls such things. I thought I was upset, but now I'm not so sure I should have been. Let me know, K?

Now now. We just watched an LSU QB set records and win a Natty with his incredible competitiveness. Not arguing with your point, just saying take heart. Competitors still exist and new ones are lacing up their athletic shoes everyday.

Sad to know Kobe is gone, but you can look forward to finding the guy who carries on his legacy.

Dude, I don't have a hunt in the Kobe fight at all. And there is no bigger LSU fan in the world than me. But if you are comparing Joe Burrow to Kobe, you need to go to bed, stop drinking, stop smoking, etc.

Kobe would not be the alpha dog if he shared a team with burrow

You should probably reassess how much stock, faith and idolization you put in a celebrity. If you died three days ago Kobe wouldn’t have given you a second thought.
