Has the Kobe tragedy made it hard for you to entertain small crap?

Not that I knew Kobe personally, but was a big fan of his. Seems like ever since I heard the news, nothing seems that important. Debating medial sports stories, controversies, etc...bitching about other drivers on the road, trying to focus on a TV show, trolling or being trolled on TD....

Just been in sort of a mute state of mind and not really sure if that’s a good thing or if it will pass. Normally I’d be all excited or fired up one way or another over the Pelini hire, but it’s just sort of there. No real opinion.

Just seems so hard to believe life can be cut short in an instant regardless of who you are.

Yes, but I feel this way every Monday so I wouldn't blame Kobe.

that's the thing here, I couldn't care less about Kobe, didn't even know what this mamba crap was all about, it's just a wakeup/reminder that life is short and doesn't discriminate when the reaper comes a calling, RIP Kobe and prayers for his survivors

You probably need to re-think your priorities if sports affects you this much

I don't mean this as bad as it sounds, but you guys need bigger issues in your life if the death of a sports figure affects you that greatly and it wasn't someone you knew personally.

On an hourly basis, I get pissed at people for worrying about stupid shite.

The Kobe thing just reinforces my belief that people worry about the wrong things and take life for granted.

not really, I have some some things that are much more important than grieving over the death of people I didnt even know.

It was sad yesterday and it's still sad and tragic today, but it's not going to effect my day to day life.

No.

I've had enough of my own family members die to do that.

That's not to say you can't take a few moments to appreciate him or to have a moment of sadness, but to have a celeb's death put you on a week-long binger of mourning is just weird.

I find it "particularly" sad for a celebrity death given he has young children, was a very pleasant person by all accounts and wasn't engaging in much high-risk behavior to my knowledge.

It's not made me more contemplative about life or anything, but I do think it's pretty warranted that some feel his loss more than the normal star they didn't know.

I was pretty numb a few days after the Lafayette crash that killed Carley McCord and 4 others. I didn’t know any of them personally but being a Lafayette local and a pilot it always hits close to home. Yesterday had me pretty numb too. Just seems like a lot of untimely death around lately.

I'm sorry he died just like I would be sorry if anyone died. But it hasn't made any difference as to my outlook. If it weren't a topic of conversation here I would be giving it very little thought. Tragedies happen om a daily basis to people no one has never heard of.

If Kobe hadn't been rich enough to have a personal helicopter he would be alive today.

Kobe cheated on his wife with that hotel maid and possibly assaulted her. Never forget

I don't know why it took Kobe's death for people to start giving this serious thought. Kobe was a transcendent athlete with incredible drive. However, it seems hollow and disingenuous that every single person on social media needs to post their own Kobe quote with an addendum as a memoriam.

Kobe = Great athlete, good human being, smart/intelligent, died young. I feel sorry for his family, friends, fellow athletes/coaches, etc... but a lot of other people are craving attention through his death and strange/cringe worthy.
