We're just two weeks behind Italy

Not every country, but it seems like most of Europe has.
New cases is the boogeyman for the media right now. And we are testing 100x more than almost every country.

Yep. At first we needed to import fear from other countries. Now, we can just manufacture it domestically

The president is positive that their country is a complete shitshow or is he positive for SARS 2.0? Haha.
Also...this is a seasonal respiratory virus...it's behaving like seasonal respiratory viruses behave. Hitting the "tropics" harder now than before. Going to be a long hump, plateau there and in Mexico.

But the impact is not being felt evenly. Poorer nations throughout Latin America, the Middle East, South Asia and Africa are bearing a growing share of the caseload, even as wealthier countries in Western Europe and East Asia enjoy a relative respite after having beaten back the worst effects

Because the virus ends in 111 days.

I know this is sarcasm, but what point are the people using it trying to prove? We've blown past their infection numbers per million. Thankfully our deaths per million are much, much lower.

If it weren't an election year AND if there wasn't a Republican running for reelection (especially Trump), then you wouldn't hear a word about the number of new cases -- all you'd hear about is the dwindling death rate and how the virus isn't that bad for people who do not have underlying health conditions.
