I would think all those wooden fences block any breeze? I don’t live next to anyone so I don’t know. My fencing is barb wire.

I put up all different types/styles of fence: regular, shadowbox, California style.

MOST people understand the different styles and what they mean.

But occasionally I run into a customer that wants a California style (overlap) but still wants air flow for breezes and for storms/hurricanes to flow/not do damage. Ok, good luck with that.

Yep. No termite damage to a metal fence.

That's a new one to me. Every fence I've replaced the wood has rotted at the ground. Haven't seen a fence failed yet from termites.

ETA: Most rotting at the ground is from people letting leaves/pinestraw and dirt. Post stays wet and covered and rots. It also doesn't help with the original installer was lazy and didn't pour concrete up to and above ground level.

I loved the ones with the vinyl inserts - peak 1982. I have a little hideaway property I am going to put one on.

They still have this, hasn't gone anywhere. I'm always surprised more people don't consider it.

You can't bang the "Ole Lady" in the backyard pool with chain link.

Gotta have that privacy board on board.

What? Rule #1 is ALWAYS put on a good show. Mark your territory baw.

Wooden fences are for dudes that cover their nipples when they get out of the pool.

99% of you baws are 5'8' tall with a beer belly, hairy arse, small dick, and a fat wife. Nobody wants to see the show that 99% of put on.

What you call chain link fence is also called hurricane fence and is put up for a reason. The clue is in the name.

A lot of new developments have restrictions preventing homeowners from putting this type of fencing up

I have a neighbor that has an area in back for his yorkies. Nice, black chain link and his yard is always well kept. Looks really nice.

This is my neighbors' fence, but the slats are aluminum and it's been there 60 years.

Bad thing about no chain link is the kids have a harder time simply jumping the fence to go to the neighbors.

I still have a chain linked fence, but the back fence is a 6 ft white vinyl. I wouldn't want to not have a fence.

Fun fact: depending on where you live, you’ll have to pay property taxes on chain length, wood or vinyl. But you won’t have to pay property taxes on chicken wire, cattle panel or drill pipe fences

Same here. I’ve got mine topped with Concertina wire. Nice and shiny.
