He has a boat but it’s kept at the marina. No carport carport or canopy.

When we moved into our house 19 years ago, still pretty much newlyweds, I got a couple of quotes for fencing in the backyard so the pets couldn't roam. I went with the black chain link, and it pretty much disappears with all of the shrubs and vegetation behind it. No upkeep to it, it does the job, and was less than half the cost of wood.

How much cheaper is chain link vs wood?

Doubt cost was a factor at all. Aesthetically more pleasing than some of the wood fences. Also, feels less confining?

Good point. You really don’t see it around like you used to. High quality observation sir.

I love my chain link. Everyone else has replaced their fence due to a storm at least once. One woman did cedar and in 5 years it looks like shite. Mine looks the same and has no issues with hurricanes

If our house didnt already have wood I’d have went with chain link. Just need something to keep the dogs contained. Dont want to have to replace segments every time a category 2 rolls through. And idc if neighbors see me peeing outside.

I wouldn't mind mine being taller as they make add ons for privacy that come off easy

All wooden fences now and minimum height is 6'
Wood privacy fences are ugly as shite after just a year. IDC if you use treated or cedar and even stain it. They all look like dogshit after the first year, maybe two if you did use cedar

If I had a nickel for everytime I saw Mrs Joan in her pajamas letting her dog out in back yard…

Chain link is better than wood fences..it doesn't rot, it doesn't need painting every year, and wind won't blow it down.
But, yeah, it does look worse.
