If I'm making the effort to put that crap up, it's staying until the second weekend in January, at least.

Why put it out there to take it down before the holiday?

When did you put yours up though? I probably got a chance to enjoy mine longer than you.

If near Chicago, let me help do your decorations next week. We sadly land there for our first Christmas in that miserable city thanks to family matters. At least we have reservations at The Walnut Room and Mariposa.

Go get yourself a nice steak at the Chicago Firehouse.

So now we put the shite up before Thanksgiving and take it down before Christmas?

Whats the point of putting it out then? Let's just start called them Thanksgiving decorations instead of Christmas decorations.

We have trash/recycling collection sites in our area that accept Christmas trees the month after the holiday. Always amusing to drive by one the day after Christmas and see a pile of trees less than an hour after opening (7 am). We picture families where the mom declares Christmas is over and starts taking down the tree immediately after the last present is opened. By noon there is no trace of Christmas.

Liturgical Christians should have Christmas decorations up from December 25 to January 6. The Advent season is one of waiting and preparing, not celebrating. The Christmas season which is soon upon us will be for singing Joy to the World! And lights!

Hope you have a wonderful trip, Merry Christmas and Happy Advent, friend. Tell Mother thanks for the mammeries. She'll get it.

RIP Harambe.

Why do you think I hate Christmas? It’s my favorite holiday.
