Two times were during attempted robberies while closing a restaurant and bar I used to manage in BR. One time the perp was arrested hiding in a dumpster about a half mile away and the other time the perp wasn’t found.

One time at my house at the time while all the home invasions were happening in 2004 near tiger land. It turned out to just be some drunk douchebag who pissed himself and ran off. He was later found sleeping on the train tracks and luckily the train conductor saw him and stopped the train

One time some POS attempted to carjack me in Mandeville after Katrina. He ran off and wasn’t found by police.

One time inside my car in the driveway of my house in Metairie when some woman ran from under my patio and stuck her entire upper torso into my open car window. Turned out to be a mentally ill individual who ran off. I called police and while they were taking my statement, the woman’s father showed up on my property with a knife threatening me. The police drew their guns and ended up tazing him and then arresting him.

I wouldn’t do anything differently on any of the occasions. Thankfully, I’ve never had to pull the trigger.

I used to work overnights at a 24 hour pharmacy. I refused to fill a fraudulent prescription and the man told me to fill it or he was going to his car to get a gun and come back in and kill me. I refused to fill the prescription. He left the pharmacy area and i called police while looking out of my drive through window as the man opened his trunk and grabbed 2 pistols. Thankfully, the POS was already under surveillance and they followed him from Hollygrove after he bought an ounce of heroin. They blew their cover and arrested him as he was walking back to the front door of the store. Somehow, he already had 4 previous felony drug arrests and 3 pistols and an AK with 2 drums in his car.

3 am in Algiers driving to Venice. Got off Hwy 90 to get on General De Gualle Dr. because I couldn't take the tunnel because I had hazmat onboard.

I'm in the far right lane and the roads are empty. I pull up to a red light, and 3 sketchy looking dindus are on the sidewalk on the other side of the road. One of them looks around, puts his hand in his waistband under his hoodie and steps off the sidewalk and starts walking towards me. My throat felt like someone was choking me, but I had my Glock in my hand and I held it up like, "Look what I've got." I never pointed it at him, just showed it.

He stopped dead in his tracks and backed up a few steps and I ran the light.

Looking back on it now, I should have never stopped at the light or just took off as soon as he stepped of the sidewalk.

shite was scary.

Kinda....Once lived in shite apartment complex... one of my white trash neighbors high as a kite hook ups started pounding on my window at 4:00 am... All I could see was a silhouette of someone pounding on the window and had the gun I keep in the drawer pointed at her the whole time. Next morning my neighbor came over laughing about the whole thing and I told him... yea it was 4:00 am... I had a gun pointed at her...don't let that shite happen anymore

This black dude in this POS car with a baby momma came by my house one day snooping around not long after we moved in.

Started asking dumb questions and how he worked for town and would bring a tractor over and clean a ditch out.
I said it's not your tractor it's the towns.
Then he started asking for money and asked me what all I kept in my garage.
I said hang on a second, went inside grabbed my shotgun and told him to GTFO and never let me see you down this road again.
(In words that'll keep me posting on this site.)

I asked around days after, guybwas a known thief and troublemaker.
Last I heard he was in jail for attempted armed robbery of a dollar general.

So to answer, sorta.
I didn't point it at him but he got the point.

I hope that's the extent of mthat gun pointing days involving another human being.

This is exactly how I was raised, if I am going to point a gun at somebody, I'll be pulling the trigger.

Came close once and I'm not even sure if I would have been brave enough to pull the trigger.

We had this batshit crazy family that lived near me as a kid and they boyfriend was always either getting high or drunk and would end up fighting with his girlfriend of the women's deaf daughter. Cops were always being called to that house.

One day when I was around 12 years old my buddy and I were in the back yard shooting bb guns and we heard some screaming on the side of my house and the garbage cans get knocked over. We ran to that corner and the boyfriend was trying to attack the deaf daughter. I'm not sure if he thought our guns were real or what, but he ran back to his house.

I of course ran inside and the girl had already started banging on our door and my mom let her in and called the police. I got my shotgun and loaded it and sat there shaking in fear that this dude was going to come start trying to beat down our door.

Cops came and arrested the guy at his house without incident.

bullshite, there has been several stories where a gun was pulled and defused dangerous situations when no one died or got shot in this thread alone.

The one's where someone is attempting to break into your house and then running off for example. You should only pull it when you are prepared to use it appropriately though. Guns are not freakin samurai swords and have to get blood when they come out.

I came in from work one morning(3 am) and decided I wasn't going to go to bed because I didn't want to waste a Friday morning sleeping. I get out all of my guns and start cleaning them when I hear someone outside. The back parking area of these duplexes only had me and one girl that lived in a duplex next to mine parking in it.

So I get up and look out of the back door and I see a guy creeping around her car and I thought I know this fricker isn't about to break into her car with me standing here with a floor full of guns. So I reach down and grab a 357 and load it and open the back door. As soon as that door opens he jumps in the drivers seat and closes the door. I draw down on him and it seemed like 5 min goes by but it was probably only 30 seconds when the car door opens up and he says he is on a date with my neighbor. Then she comes walking out of her back door and sees what is going on and she says "Larson, thank you so much for looking out for me"

Dude was probably pissed because she didn't say anything to him.

Would I do it different? Probably not.

Yes at work in a parking lot. Was to protect a female coworker and myself at 4:30 AM. Dude had an army jacket on in August and his hands shoved in the pockets.
Came at us screaming incoherently. As close as I ever want to come to shooting someone. Guy didn’t bat an eye looking at the business end of my Colt. He got madder and that’s when I knew he was up to no good and it would had ended badly if I were not armed

I've never felt the need to own a gun nor have I ever shot one. I try to be respectful to everyone, don't flaunt whatever wealth I own in front of anyone, and I walk away from arguments when they become escalated because no argument is worth dying over. I've always lived my life this way and never felt the need to own a gun for protection at any point in my life. Yes, I realize that I'm at risk of becoming a victim to some knucklehead, but I try to be fully aware of my surroundings at all times and I really don't venture into sketchy neighborhoods all that much.
