Has anyone ever walked into a place to apply for a job there [Edit: Hired]

There is a pizza/brewhouse type of place down the street hiring and I am interested in working there part time on the weekends. Problem is I haven't walked into a place to apply since 2008 when I worked at an On The Border. It's been a while and I am pretty nervous that they will think I am a loser, especially if I apply and don't get hired, so when the people who work there see me out in public they will see me as the loser who couldn't even get hired at the pizza brewhouse.

sometimes you just have to deal with it
i couldn't get hired on at Blockbuster or a car wash company in high school for some reason. didn't stop me from going to Blockbuster or getting my car washed, baw

I see people at our front desk filling out applications all the time. We have 1500 employees though and hire a lot of young people to work the phones.

I guess but it would be defeating because for my main job I probably make 2-3x as much as the managers who would make the decision not to hire me

In my experience throughout the service industry, if a place has a help wanted sign, you will get an on the spot interview as long as you don't look like you are on drugs are homeless.

Just call and ask if they are hiring and if you can come put in an application. They will probably tell you to frick off when you tell them you only want to work weekends.
