Just call and ask if they are hiring and if you can come put in an application. They will probably tell you to frick off when you tell them you only want to work weekends.

I mainly want to work F-Sa-Su, but will work during the week if they need me to. I just am not available until 6:00pm but this place is open until 2am so it probably wont be as big of a deal as other places who close at 10 during the week.

Got my first two jobs this way. My first one, washing dishes by hand at a busy meat and 3 type restaurant, I went back in like 3 times in the weeks following my application to check on it. They finally said okay you're hired. Rode my bike to and from work, a little over a mile, until I could afford a vehicle. Got paid minimum wage under the table

And McDonald's workers want $15/hr

There is a pizza/brewhouse type of place down the street hiring and I am interested in working there part time on the weekends. Problem is I haven't walked into a place to apply since 2008 when I worked at an On The Border. It's been a while and I am pretty nervous that they will think I am a loser, especially if I apply and don't get hired, so when the people who work there see me out in public they will see me as the loser who couldn't even get hired at the pizza brewhouse.

I think you're a fricking retarded jackwagon but....

If you're serious I'll help you out.

Yes you do usually have to walk in to these places to apply. Here's some very real tips.

1. Don't need to dress up but have your shirt tucked in your jeans(no shorts). And do NOT have a hat and/or sunglasses on .

2. Go at the absolute DEADEST time of day for them. Between shifts, after lunch etc.

3. Get an application and take it home to fill out. Do NOT do it there. Thank the hostest/bartender whoever gives you the app and ask if tomorrow at the same time would be best time to bring it back by.

Good luck. frick FACE.

In that case go apply.

Be upfront with them. You are clearly young, educated, and driven.

Tell them you have a normal day job and are just looking for some weekend shift for some extra money.

Some places I've worked at would love to hire people who are capable of just showing up to work on time and providing exemplary steps of service.

Other places I've worked out basically frowned people that voiced that particular job wouldn't be their primary priority/ source of income.

Just depends on what the ownership/management is looking for

WTF man, quit asking for advice on the Internet. Do what the rest of us do, google it and read the responses to some other pussy that asked the question.

I'd be more worried about that if they actually had a chance to get to know you.

I think it shows initiative for a place like that. Go in maybe mingle with the workers, they will be your coworkers so it will pay to make a decent first impression. tell them you are interested in working there and ask to speak to the owner/manager.

Small business like that have lots of turnover and i think it would be easy to get hired by speaking directly to the owner. will also save owner time fricking around with a craigslist ad he will be appreciative.

I won employee of the month 3 times out of the 8 months I worked at a restaurant in Iowa simply by doing things like showing up on time, not playing on my phone in the middle of my shift, and basic shite like that.

That is what I have to offer. I might not have full availability but when I am available I will show up and actually do my job, and not call in sick all the time because I am hungover or high or text all the time in the middle of my shift.

Walk in is fine under certain conditions.

Day/Time. Never just before lunch or weekends. Best time is around 9 or 10 am Monday's when a GM may be on duty and they may have time to visit. If after lunch, check the parking lot to make sure it is not too busy.

Ask for the manager, if he is not there, say thank you and go back later. Always have a resume' handy, dress for an impromptu interview and be prepared to answer any questions.

Don't just fill out an application and leave it hoping that will get you hired.

I commend you for taking on this type of extra work to help pay off student loans rather than expecting hand outs. Good luck!

$80k

Bachelors degree. I make $85k right now in my main job.

I pay $2500 a month by choice, I am trying to get them paid off ASAP. I could pay less if I wanted to.
