Has anyone else grown closer to their pets during this corona bullshite?

I've been working from home now for damn near 2 months (this is not a subtle I still gotta job post) and I can already tell we are going to be dealing with separation anxiety when this is all over. My dog is my shadow when I'm at home and I can tell he is much happier now that I'm home all day, and he makes me happy being able to hang out with him between calls.

If you like him so much why don’t you marry him?

No because my kids have been annoying me 247

I’ve got an 11 year old Great Dane on steroids who mouth breaths all over my conference calls.

Subtle “I taught my dog the peanut-butter-on-my-balls trick” brag

Are you kidding, I can't go anywhere without my dog.
He's become so spoiled it's like having a newborn baby.

I'm disgusted at myself for laughing at this imagery.

No
It has only reaffirmed how much they annoy us.
My dogs:
1) constantly in our feet. You can't hardly walk without tripping over them. Cooking, cleaning, getting up of the couch, even eating dinner.. dogs in your feet all damn day.
2) Whine to go out incessantly. Let them out, they come back in two minutes and 5 minutes later they whine to go back out. They do this all day. And they don't stop whining if you don't let them out.
3) they sometimes roll in some stinky shite in the yard and then I have to bathe them extra.
4) One of my dogs drinks water too fast and it makes him puke it back up. He's 12 and he's done this his entire life. I don't know how many times in your life you need to water puke to stop doing that, but he still hasn't gotten the idea.
5) If dog water pukes (see #4) and we don't catch it, my toddler will slip in it. Now I have to clean the toddler and clean the mess.
6) My toddler likes to play with the dogs. One is a grumpy old man and growls and doesn't want to play. Naturally my toddler likes to torture this dog.
7) Mail comes every. Single. Day. And every single day one of our dogs goes absolutely batshit crazy barking and growling. Her nails tear up the window sill she barks from.
My wife and I each brought a dog into our relationship. Wish we only had one.

Working from home has definitely spoiled him
Instead of the dog walker taking him we take him for walks. We give him much more treats
As well as the door men when we come back, we’ve always told the dog walker no treats from the doormen
And he’ll be in a room with either of us during the day/ work
Not a barker so that’s a plus.
Although we were pretty close to him as it is, he just turned one.

As someone with a 1 year old pup who does this, I’m glad to know this is normal and not some strange medical issue I’ve been ignoring

Oh yes. When one of us goes somewhere, they whine and pace.

My girlfriends cat moved in with me in January to get away from all the dogs and other animals they have at their house. There she was a recluse and rarely came out of hiding. At my apartment she is the friendliest and most outgoing cat once she adjusted. I am also straight up talking to it now since it’s mostly us at home all day while I work remotely
I’m one step away from talking to a volleyball.

Our dog and cat both make regular cameos on my google meet/zoom calls.

As in it has convinced me to never get another dog again in my life, sure.

Ours is one year old as of two days ago.
Congrats on getting to 11! That’s old for a Dane.
Love these big goobers

No this doofus is 12 and healthy as hell. A joint supplement to keep his joints healthy since he tore an ACL last year and that's it. Dude sprints around the yard with the younger dog chasing squirrels. Lean and muscular for a Westie. Clearly his water puking has not had any long term effects.

Can't say that I have. We have one pet, a ten-year old British Blue Shorthair cat. He's always been my wife's cat. The two of them are thick as thieves, I'm low man on the totem pole around here.

Mine have been driving me crazy ever since I started working from home a year ago.
Now it's worse because they are barking all day long at everyone outside.
