I think k you need to distinguish between the MDs and the PhDs

Most of the Covid BS was pushed by science PhDs

That's just the golden rule.

HaHa, No

Our GP of 33 years lost his mind during COVID

Started hiring NPs so he only saw you when necessary

Told me himself he had changed his retirement date, because he had to pay off the new complex he built, and had others move into

Was always HUGE about not abusing scrips, then started trying to diagnose you as "borderline" this or that so he could write a scrip

Pushed the vax every visit

Made you sit in your car, sent someone out to swab you, called with the results to either come in or go get your scrip. Then billed you for an office and a telemed visit

Started running unnecessary tests that the insurer denied several times

Switched from 1 visit a year, to quarterly visits

He couldnt have made it any clearer that he had switched to full-on retirement investment mode

And this was a guy we swore by, and recommended to everyone over 3 decades

And this has resulted in a large amount of gall bladders being removed unnecessarily if you so much as complain about a pain in your abdomen.

Had mine out ‘22 after 50 years. I literally thought I was having a heart attack. Sharp pains in my chest, shooting down my arm, jaw, nauseated, etc. That shite hurt like crazy. Go in to see doc do labs and tell me I’m basically going to die due to liver enzymes through the roof. Waited about 3 days to get insurance approval. Doc said “you need to be in hospital, but I wouldn’t stay in that shite hole. All they going to do is give you fluids till we can get surgery. You can go home and drink Gatorade at the house and we’ll call you”. That shite was painful and I don’t think it was just a catch all surgery, but I’m sure some do.

This isn’t the issue. It’s that medical providers are letting their “patients”, which are now considered more as customers, make the medical decisions.

Too many people read Dr. Google and walk in the door telling the provider what they want. In order to maintain patient (customer) satisfaction, the provider gives them what they want and not what they do or do not need.

This is a huge problem in the medical industry. Years ago when I worked for a large health system, the Chief Medical Officer once pulled a provider to the side and told them “you give them what they want.” This was in response to a known drug seeker who went off against the provider in the ER and then immediately proceeded to the administrative offices and went off on them.

Then they should fight the decisions. Are they physicians or minions?

I'd have to go with lawyers. Especially with the proliferation of ambulance chasers advertising on TV and huge billboards all over the place.

They have gotten as slimy a reputation as used car salesmen and bible thumping hypocrites who are peddling religion to make themselves rich.

Addicted to metformin for diabetes? Addicted to coreg so his atrial fibrillation won’t make his heart beat out of his chest? It’s ok if you think we don’t care about patients and don’t feel sadness when something bad happens. You see, we have very thick skin and get blamed for what an insurance company does and get blamed for pharmacy mistakes. We are big boys, we can take it

This right here. Go look up the stats. 40% of females who graduate medical school have no intention of practicing clinical medicine. Another 20% won’t practice full time. Add these up and you are pumping out a ton of doctors who go to med school for the glory. Not taking away from female physicians b/c I know some good ones.

I don’t think it’s a matter of training. I think a lot of doctors know that the solution to many health problems is improved diet and physical activity.

I think they also know most people aren’t going to make those changes.

Why all the downvotes for finding a DO instead of MD?

In theory, maybe. I go to a DO and while I like him, haven't found him to be any different from any MD I've seen.

I know doctors that vaxxed and boosted their own kids. They were fooled too.
