It was a good policy. We didn't need to go crazy on vaccine mandates and the like.

Fats, sicks and olds should get the vaccine. The rest can handle covid like getting the flu

I genuinely believe politards would be vaxmaxxing had Trump won in 2020 and liberals would have been the vaccine skeptics because they didn't want the "rushed trump vaccine"

I don't necessarily blame the run of the mill doctors. Liek the guy you go see for your yearly check up isn't part of some grand scheme, he is just tryong to prescribe you what you need to be healthy in his opinion. ts not his fault that he was trained to treat symptoms with meds. If you want more wholeistic options, then seek out a doctor or someone who works in that field.

I do think that the government and big pharma have lost a TON of trust and respect. 5 years ago I would have told you that anyone who doesn't give their kids all the year 1 vaccinations is a crazy person but now I am not so sure. I think I'd still vax my kids but I definitely would look into it more than I did at the time.

I was semi okay with the covid precautions, masking, social distancing etc. at first…but the BLM riots and protests after George Floyd really shattered my entire worldview and faith in the entire health profession

advocating for children to be home from school, children and spouses to not be allowed bedside goodbyes for dying love ones, no one allowed in church, high school and college athletes can’t compete in sports … but them saying it’s okay for thousands to march shoulder to shoulder en masse all around the country, allowing Floyd to have huge funerals in multiple cities, and doctors themselves participating in and justifying it by saying the threat of racism is bigger than the threat of the virus?

frick all of them. That made it clear that the educational damage they caused to young healthy people from toddlers to college, the lonely nursing homes, the businesses that had to shut down, was all just a completely farce and they knew it. It instantly made them all look like self righteous, selfish assholes to me…which probably isn’t fair but it’s hard for me to forget. Once you can’t trust on one thing it just makes you skeptical of everything

BS. I said in the Covid threads I wouldn’t take anything that was just rushed. People were scared to death and Trump cut the red tape but never forced it on anyone.

Biden forced it on the population or did his best to try to.

Even a year or two when it was clear the jab was complete bs and my doctor asked if I had the Covid shot and she didn’t appreciate my response, she got all smug about it like she was above me or knew more. Of course they’ll never admit about being so wrong.

It’s the insurance companies that are the issue. They dictate medical decision making much more than physicians do. Physicians can’t do anything without a nod from insurance
This.

It never ceases to amaze me how clueless the average person is to how the world works.

Not sure why the OP is getting downvoted. He's asking a legitimate question.

There was a time when doctors were trusted implicitly. Not anymore and especially post-Covid.

Now one doesn't know if their hands are tied by insurance, blindly following Fauci, or if they're getting kickbacks from pharmaceuticals. Many struggle to communicate in English.

Really started the decline when the pill-pushers decided it was a good idea to ask about firearms in the home.....covid nonsense really sealed the deal.

Well the new Med school acceptance rates are more women than men. Maybe that's just a coincidence

I bet most GPs are seeing people with one of the following:

High blood pressure.
Hyperglycemia
Hypertriglyceridemia
Whacked out lipids.

I hope they are saying, I'll give you meds for such and such but you really need to get on an exercise and eating program to lose weight and get you off these meds. Along with meds doctors should be prescribing exercise routines and nutritionists. If exercising and eating well is coming as doctors orders and they are tracking progress after every visit I bet there would be more healthy outcomes than just prescribing pills. Hopefully many doctors are already doing this but it does not seem like it.

Because men are becoming welders because they're smarter and make more money.

Agreed. After I saw all that bs, with them twerking in crowds of thousands, I knew Covid was a bunch of lies.

I’m curious how the Netflix doc Apple Cider Vinegar will affect the holistic vs medication trends in this country.

That's like saying you hate fry cooks at McDonalds because they raised the prices on their hamburgers.

Yes the disrespect is at an all time high. I have practiced medicine for 15 years. Had a patient yesterday his daughter told him to stop all his medicines. She said all doctors just want to make money and addict people. He took her advice and ended up in the ICU 6 wks later. His daughter never trained in any kind of healthcare.

This is exactly what I'm talking about. I don't pretend I know as much about my health because I saw a few prescription drug ads on tv, but I also want to know that my doctor has my best interests at heart.

There’s plenty of dipshits among us, but I’ve gotten a “yes” to the question “do you exercise regularly?” probably 5 times in the last year.
Maybe 10x more often than that do I have a patient who actually prepares their own food with relatively fresh/healthy ingredients.

I spend more time talking about the importance of losing weight, not smoking, and limiting foods that you couldn’t make yourself (can’t even broach the subject of ‘yeah, corn isn’t the best choice for a vegetable…’ because the majority of my patients buy their food through a window and think a ‘well-colored plate’ means four shades of orange).

In the rare times I have a healthy person come in once every 12-24 months to talk about staying healthy, I have to go off the cuff instead of with a little prepared speech because usually I’m trying to convince one of the above folks to take a baby step forward (and am usually met with great resistance). And, unfortunately, the topic of ‘wellness’ is so broad (and borderline controversial on just about any point you can bring up) that if you don’t have actual questions and it sounds like you’re living a relatively healthy life, then there isn’t much to talk about other than a ‘sounds like you’ve got it all figured out already, Quick Look under the hood and we are good for another year or two’
