I don't identify with any generation, but agewise Im Gen X. Plenty of shitbags in my age range too. Seems, as a gross generalization, boomers and millennials are very similar. Self indulgent, self righteous, petty, and totally convinced that their generation is special in some way. Both are wrong. That said, Boomers engineered the greatest tech revolution in human history. Also the green revolution that drastically reduced hunger. Global extreme poverty was reduced by 80% under their watch (with an assist from Gen X).

Not sure wtf Millennials have done except complain and bitch.

Just an observation.

I wouldn't give all the credit for that tech boom to the Boomers. Gen Xers had a huge hand in that as Silicon Valley exploded just as I was getting out of college, early to mid 99s, and all the new grads, who were Xers, were moving out there in droves. A lot of those startups and tech breakthroughs came from Gen Xers.

My millennial children aren't as big of pussies as the ones who post here. They kick arse.

I know, not all of them are that way and I am hopeful the generation following them will follow children like yours. It's hard to deny that there is a large number in the millenial gen that is weak AF, and want a system that allows them to frick up and someone else must pay.

I'm not even sure what point you're trying to make there. I think you're confused on your history.

quote:

By the time of Diem’s assassination in November 1963, Kennedy realized the US was losing the Vietnam War. At the same time he feared withdrawing US forces. He believed allowing South Vietnam to fall would cost him the 1964 election. At the time of his assassination in November 1963, he had ordered a gradual withdrawal of US forces to finish at the end of 1965.

He realized he fricked up and was working towards fixing it.

As far as Reagan, look at the list of countries the administration was interfering with.

Foreign policy

They had fingers in South/Central America and all over the world.

Smart people realize that the overwhelming majority are just normal people. Dumb people like to you characterize 10s of millions of people based on a few thousand that visibly whine on the internet.

Lowest unemployment rate in years
Inflation in check
Lowest violent crime rate in years
Technological and information revolutions making everything easy and seamless
Mass-casualty wars are a thing of the past

But I agree things are terrible on the internet, and the world will be ending soon.

Subsequent generations are every bit as entitled and narcissistic as boomers, and given the opportunity they would screwed up the world just as much. The boomers just got there first.

Are these bandaids or a systematic improvement of the economy? Most of the data points to these being short term wins at the expense of long term stability.

I was going to say also, how can you claim mass casualty wars are a thing of the past as well just because we haven't had one since when, Vietnam or WWII?

I didn't realize we were guaranteed not to have one again?

Holy shite you couldn't be dumber.

Do you honestly consider 1.8% inflation to be high? Economists consider 2% inflation to be nearly ideal for a healthy economy.

Try graduating from college in 1981 with inflation over 10% and mortgages at 15%.
