What's this going to do for Houston?

Bunch of rain and water that won't drain?

Every two years my family travels with another family and we rent a condo for a week in Port Aransas. Supposed to go back in 2018 and actually just last started looking for where we want to stay.

Port A looks like it's going to get smashed.

GIF showing the difference in track between 7Am advisory and 10AM advisory. Sightly north.

if it stays on this track Houston is going to get a ton of rain and a lot of storm surge. A LOT

I haven't seen anything on our local news (south of Lafayette area) but surely rigs have been/are being evacuated, right??

At this point, folks in and around Corpus should hope the stall happens inland. If it stalls off the coast, it could be that much worse. There isn't a ton of room for error.

Outright dissipation would be even better, albeit incredibly unlikely.

i remember someone saying if the eye formed north of where they were currently thinking it was that it would take a NE shift. I think I heard tidbits say that it indeed formed North so a NE shift is possible/why the change in landfall in your gif.

Pretty sure they go down to a skeleton crew.

But yeah a Major storm would more than likely trigger shutdowns.

bloomberg has a correlation of specific ag commodities higher up when storms are present which is interesting

This forecast track will change again soon. It will not stall and do this loop like they are showing.

Port Aransas

Spent some time down there a few years ago....found this little bar where there was hundreds of hats hanging from the ceiling and walls....cool little dive bar in a small little fishing community. I really liked that area.
