Officials: Corps now planning to release up to 16 cubic feet/second from Addicks dam, double original plan. Impacts Buffalo Bayou #harvey

To clarify, it is 16k cfs, and the impacts are minimal to non-existent at points further down Buffalo Bayou. However, where the release merges with the Barker release, the impacts have increased water a foot or two.

Watch this fricker track east into warmer waters and build back up to a hurricane then turn north and hit Nola.

At this point nothing would shock me. Been the craziest storm I've ever seen

Probably CNN. They interviewed a lady who just entered the shelter that didn't go as planned. She unloaded them with some colorful language and rightfully so.

Let me also say that the Coast Gaurd, Harris County Sherriff's department as well as Houston PD and FD have worked admirably, but they could have not done all of this on their own.....the VOLUNTEERS made the difference.

I would bet that a black man driving a jet ski in her house would have been the farthest thought in her mind a week ago. how could you do anything but laugh.

That looks like the Ford Center on the south side of I-10 just west of Beaumont, about MM845

Strengthening from Harvey is basically nil. It is experiencing heavy shear and dry air issues. There is a reason the sun was shining in Vermillion Parish despite being only 100 miles from the center right now.

I take it they have increased the release because the (est. 25k cfs) inflow is still outpacing the outflow so they need to release pressure?

Absolutely; so many lives were spared thanks to all of the volunteers who risked their lives to save others. Also think of how much money was saved with volunteers working tirelessly around the clock for free on their own dime, and utilizing the free Zello app to coordinate to boot.

Here we go. The releases of the barker and addicks damns are going down stream. Water in westchase area is building up in streets.

This is going to be interesting.
