Many times schools close because of what buses may encounter on their routes. School systems don't want to risk transporting kids in icy conditions, standing water on roads, high winds, etc.

Post this in the resources thread too.

1 foot or 10 feet ... does it matter that much? I've never flooded but either way it's not fun.
So glad that you and yours got out. Lives are way more important than things.

So has anybody noticed this thing has moved further east? Maybe we need to split this into TX and LA threads, because nobody's paying much attention to where he's going next.

Glad you got out, what part of town/neighborhood

Thanks. I found that but he said he is closer to Bevil Oaks. That gage appears to be down. I feel confident his house is raised enough.

I posted earlier that it took a jog SE. I think it is rotating around itself, almost. If that makes any sense.

My friend was flooded yesterday from Pinewood. She had 2 feet of water in her house at that time.

We've noticed but I'm waiting for the trend to continue to make a larger mention of it. The rain impact won't be a big shield but bands which we need to see the short term models later tonight to get a better feel for. It will make for a windier day tomorrow here in SELa.

Dumb question. Road is closed, right?
Posted on 8/29/17 at 6:10 pm to ihometiger
Why does the state let this happen?
Posted on 8/29/17 at 6:14 pm to ihometiger
Holy shite, i would assume that bridge was not designed with water uplift as a primary issue.

I thought the other thread was just the Zello talk.
