Why do people keep saying this? Is everyone just ignoring the fact that models are beginning to come together on the idea of Harvey reentering the gulf, strengthening, and heading to Vermillion Bay, moving inland to near BR? This could eventually be a big deal here too.

Because the 3 days it spends in Texas is a bigger deal in SWLA than a tropical storm moving through Vermillion Parish and out of the state in 24 hours is to SE LA.
SE LA doesn't have the disaster marker cornered. Share the wealth pal.

Sure seems like a trek into central Texas after landfall

18Z GFS is rolling out now and it's good news..so far. Well inland along the Rio Grande River at 102 hours. Quite a bit SW of last run.
It's a much better story for everyone north of Corpus Christi thus far. Still a rainfall disaster between Corpus and Brownsville now.

great run for Louisiana so far with this GFS run, I'll wait until the data with the models tonight into tomorrow to get a better idea though.

Y'all invest too much time into watching these shitty models that never pan out.

Wow, is that a second storm hitting the northeast?!
Posted on 8/23/17 at 5:18 pm to slackster
Am certainly no weatherman but the front which moved thru here yesterday, Wichita Falls, looks to be dissipating over the next day or two and wonder if that will allow Harvey to head more northerly, into central Texas, than previously thought
Misinterpreted the model, nevermind

44" north of Brownsville over the next week, and the storm is still projected to be near Brownsville at that point.
