Interesting too that the 2 areas of really bad storms are directly over Houston and Beaumont, nowhere close to the actual center of the low. How long will this thing continue to spin like this? Will it eventually just turn into a mass of rain?

The GEFS, NAM, and CMC models are horrifying and just about worst case scenario for all parties involved, even including AR. I don't see how the intensity wouldn't ramp back up again if it did get back out over the warm gulf waters for 2-3 DAYS again. Hopefully it follows some of the other models and dies down heading west.

I'm in League City (The Meadows) and it sounds brutal outside. Family is asleep, but I'm unable to relax.

Everyone in the Houston metro should pay close attention to local officials and the NWS Houston. There is a very strong signal in the current modeling that parts of the Houston metro area could see an additional 15-20" of rain tonight.

Some areas are already pushing 10"+... Stay safe everyone.

I'm just in and out of the garage looking. Supposedly had a tornado in Webster which is a couple miles away. Still pouring relentlessly here.

Anyway we can merge the 2 separate threads going on about the storms?
This thread isn't going on about our latest hero Jeff anymore, so I find myself having to go back and forth between the two.

I can't sleep myself, worried that thunder will wake up the baby and keep looking out the window at the water levels
