Plenty of ways to get from LC to Dallas. I wouldn't worry about any issues until Monday / Tuesday next week

One of the local guys here in laffy said that there's minimum chance of Harvey re-entering GOM.. any truth to this at all?

Im supposed to drive from Dallas to Lake Charles today and leave Sunday morning.

As long as you can handle driving in the rain, it'll be fine. Go over and then down if you want to steer even more clear.

Would you go or do you think it will be fine? It doesnt look like they will get much rain until late Sunday and into next week.

Where do you think all the flooded out people in Texas will go/are heading?

Ah ok I see euro still saying it will travel through Louisiana but the western side. So just a slight shift to the west. Obviously if the model is off 50 to 100 miles off which is well within the margin of error it could be some issues for sela

Just loop around the storm.
I-20E to Shreveport
I-49S to Alexandria
165S to I-10
I-10W into Lake Charles

Bring food and water and drive a 4x4, just in case.

Sunday would probably be the outer envelope of you getting in to BR assuming it takes the Westerly stroll after initial landfall taking it back to the bath water like GOM

Most of the local mets use models similar to the NAM, which has shown a much different track than the Euro or even the GFS after landfall. I'm not sure how much faith I'd put in the local forecasts. I'd stick to actual NWS products whenever possible.

Anyone remotely concerned that a metro area of 9 million people haven't evacuated for what seems like a life threatening event?

QPF forecast for the next 3 days:

25 inches in 3 days on the QPF is basically unheard of.

Same. I forget which storm but the KLFY guy was like "oh it's not coming" and I was like "oh but I have the OT gurus" and sure enough, guess which one was right???

And Rob is the reason we bought a generator for Rita ... He was good in his forecasting to not scare us BUT he sure was the one who we trusted. He called it several days out. (Yes, I realize he could have been wrong but we trust him over many others)

Are we fricked in Eunice? It flooded a bit here last year with the floods. I'm debating on going to Nacogdoches or Little Rock this weekend.
