One good thing so far is how small the wind fields have been. Hurricane force winds have only been found in the NE quadrant and extend only 20 nautical miles form the center.

I completed my journey from Karnes City to Austin. Now I'm at Austin Beerworks. This storm better show up because these oil companies shut down a lot of locations in preparation.

974 mb pressure is more indicative of a TC of 100 mph winds. Either winds will increase or the radius of TS winds will expand outward. Right now TS winds only expand up to 90 miles from the center.

sure did...a few false alarms and people will stop taking the warnings seriously. same thing caused a lot of folks to get stranded when Katrina hit.

It seems simple to me.

1. Storm goes back in gulf and Baton Rouge gets hammered
2. It stays on land and we get a good amount of rain but it's manageable

Pro tip: if you ever need to get from sa/atx to the valley or vice versa, the karnes city highway is a gangsta arse shortcut.

You working down there? Family in Kenedy has loved the business that the Eagle Ford Shale has brought to those cities.

I should start more Rocky statue threads I guess. Those are way more funny than El Gaucho's topics...

Peej needs to predict what it's gonna do next, so everyone can be prepared to do the opposite. Lives may be saved
