Here is the thing, it's gonna sit on you guys until Tuesday and I don't know if you will have power? I'm not gonna tell you what to do, but if you stay it could be uncomfortable and supplies will be limited. Remember it's gonna be hard restocking stores.

I would leave.

Then I'd consider it.

Did it flood during Allison when 59 was under 20ft of water?

I lived at Kirby and Holcombe for years. It was never a problem. Don't be a puss.

Worst case scenario is the current run of the Euro model. It puts all of SW LA, BR, Hammond and West St. Tammany in the front right quadrant for 24 hours of a major hurricane as it moves NE from the gulf.

Hopefully it isn't a major hurricane upon second landfall but that track into LA has been pretty consistent for past 2 days.

Close to Meyerland, Rice Village, around Buffalo Bayou, especially west of Downtown? Was flooding close to you on Memorial Day?

You got two choices:

Convince your mom to go. This is what you should bust your balls doing

If you can't, you should stay IMHO. You are a spry young smart buck. You will be able to get out of any life threatening situation early enough and help her as well. If you leave, she is vulnerable

I'm in Braes Heights and we're staying. The only place we could really evacuate to would be the ranch and it's gonna get slammed too so it's kinda by default but I'm not too worried. It didn't flood either of the past recent flood events.

If you were in Braeswood or Meyerland I'd probably gtfo.

I think if you live in houston and money isn't an issue, just book a room at a hotel, there are so many inexpensive hotels. I got a room at the omni for $200/night and thats one of the nicest places in town. Trust me count it as a small vacation and just be thankful you will have electricity,AC, and food/water. It's just not worth it, nobody knows whats coming, hopefully its nothing, but just go to a nice hotel and dont risk it. I live inside the loop and it floods terribly in west u on a normal basis, a multi day hurricane and it could be devastating, im not trying to find out.

That's kind of how I feel. I've been through 3 major hurricanes and the one thing I don't want to be is uncomfortable. Having no electricity and being unable to move because of flooding is the worst. Top it off there is little supply left in Houston.

Nah a hotel somewhere is my choice.

I enjoy how seamlessly you talk about your wealth, even in a hurricane thread.
