If my SO graduated from "the hardest school to get into in Illinois", why does she do so many dumb things all the time?

One of my son’s friends just got rejected by MIT. She scored a 36 on the ACT...twice. She’s asian, so maybe that counted against her.
Another of his friends who is Blasian scored a 34. Tried to get into Stanford and a few others, but the best he got into was Rice, which was 5th on his list.

15 years ago Ole Miss and Bama were where you would goto if you didn’t get TOPS and Southeastern, ULL were not an option.

Nice. That's a great school in a not so great neighborhood.

I meant ole miss. I knew a few people that went to bama and they're all successful. But they were going to be successful anywhere really.
